It's like channel 4 have found everybody's most annoying person from around the christmas afternoon board game to host this one (well sit there and come out with ridiculous comments, name or place he's been to drop or tell us what stupid thing he owns, that is rather than what could be called hosting - more like boasting ). Can you take this one further Suzie, 8 letter word up on the board only a Q left and no U...is he even aware of what's going on around him. At least previous hosts did try to play some of the games. Not the same since Richard (RIP) & Carol left Nick Hewer has no charisma, personality or charm.
He seems to think he is intelligent (he may be) but his vocabulary is dire, his attempts at banter and jokes are simply cringe worthy!
As for Rachel, She is as dull as dishwater too.
I think she has Googled herself too many times and read all the sad perverts comments on Youtube and that tacky fansite someone has created.

thought I was the only one at last I've discovered like-minded people. Will the director/producer, whoever? tell that bloke Nick to stop saying 'well done' and 'very good' at every turn. They must really have had to search far and wide to find such a 'unique' presenter. The contestants must be nervous enough without him wittering on - he is so wrong on all counts for this type of show. Anyway, I've had to stop watching, even muting the sound doesn't work. I've been dipping in and out occasionaly to see if there's any improvement - worse, if at all possible. Watching Flog it! on BBC2 now Nick Hewer was a bad mistake by Channel 4. He is dire, bossy, patronising,overbearing, rude, and yes VERY boring. After many years watching, have now ditched Countdown from my viewing. Get rid of Hewer, asap. a truly interesting presenter is needed. @former employee ye i thought so, especially about susie, cos i was thinking how can she get such long words by just having a dicitionary? i mean seriously, does a dictionary give you that much of an advantage for finding long words within 30 seconds? they must use some anagram solver behind the scenes. as for the numbers round, i dont get why they just neglect to show how the difficult numbers that no one can derive are solved. surely the computer they use to generate the number also has the solutions. thats why im not too sure about them telling rachel how to solve it as if they did she would be able to everytime! (unless they do it on purpose for the audience to believe shes not being told the answer).
