Great British Menu Comments

Uncomfortable
I found this weeks shows very difficult to watch due to Ally constantly stressing out. Why enter the competition.!!

Eddie
Am I the only person that can't understand a word Eddie from Northern Ireland says on this weeks Great British Menu
Lost for words SP 8:39pm Tue 18 Oct

Complaint
Yes ,I agree with Nick a Angela knew from the star that she was putting Danny through even though Andrews dishes were better every time.Danny even had blood oozing out of his main course, and his dessert was a mess compared to Andrews he should have gotten through not Danny.

complaint
Andrew met the brief every day but was marked down I think that was unfair angela had a favourite in danny who could do no wrong

Fish Dish
Cannot believe that the W.I. were really pleased with that awful black mess on a plate. Maybe it was to disguise the black hair that may have dropped in. The time it took the chef to prepare those canvas 'plates' was a complete joke!!!
REALLY!!! 10:54am Sat 10 Oct

Great British menu
I though the Great British menus was a joke as it was supposed to represent the wi but there were men at the dinner .
Angie 10:52pm Fri 9 Oct

Michael O Hare
Really disgusting. Totally agree with other comments... basic food hygiene. The W I are obviously not bothered about the odd stray hair garnishing the dishes.
Plod 7:42pm Fri 9 Oct

Twiggy
Totally agree. And I don't fancy the look of the dish he got through to the Banquet either!!
Taylor 10:07pm Thu 8 Oct

Get them hairnets
Lovely food but felt repulsed by the chefs long hair hanging over the food. Definitely a turn off.
Twiggy 7:31pm Thu 8 Oct

Hygiene
How is Michael O Hare allowed to cook. He would not be allowed in my cafe kitchen and if he was we would be in big trouble with the health inspectors. His hair should be in a net
FoodfAn 7:09pm Wed 7 Oct

Hairy chefs !!!
Beards and long hair worn by some of the chefs leave me cold and quite frankly disgusted .Non of this meets modern hygiene regulations or even good food safety practice ,Yuk!!
Moorboy 7:37pm Mon 5 Oct

Hair
I agree , all chefs should tie their hair up,I would hate to get one of his black hairs in my dinner!
Redzoe 12:08pm Sun 13 Sep

Hair
Please can Michael O'Hare tie his hair back, I' m sure if he was in a restaurant kitchen it would not be like that.
Travis Lynn 6:19pm Tue 8 Sep

Hygiene regulations
How on earth was this that chef allowed to wear his hair not tied back in the kitchen this evening

Honestly Suzie!
it was 70 years ago when they were active in the D day invasion, how many fit and able of them are left now! God bless them.
susie 61 12:31am Sat 7 Jun

Veterans
I was extremely disappointed to see how few veterans there seemed to be at the banquet as opposed to chefs families and other guests. Ive noticed this type of thing in the past but for this event it grated even more. I wont be watching future series. The programme seems to celebrate chefs more than those ostensibly to be celebrated.
Suzie 8:22pm Fri 6 Jun

Mary
I am surprised that the producers did not cut out the gesture Mary made on one of this weeks episodes. Also when she found she was through to the finals she used a few expletives (they were bleeped out) but not very professional. Did not think she would be entered again after last year as its obvious she cannot stand the pace,
annoyed 2:29pm Fri 30 May

Cap
I love this programme but one of my pet hates is a man wearing a cap/hat indoors, as one of the chefs is doing this week. Call me old fashioned but this used to be a sign of bad manners
iritating 5:13pm Wed 21 May

Belittling patronising Git
Tom Kerridges arrogant and belittling performance particularly to Will Brown from the outset was simply discraceful. His use of the term son and his continual put downs at every opportunity was nothing short of abusive - dump him
dougal 2:20pm Sat 19 Apr

Unprofessional Tom Kerridge
Wholly unnecessary and unprofessional of Tom Kerridge to comment on a thumb print in NI chef, Will Brown's final dish. Poor hygiene standards should be reprimanded but it should have been done in the kitchen. Typical of the ignorant oaf Kerridge to humiliate instead of help.
Little 1:50pm Wed 16 Apr

bully
Treatment of young chef by kerridge disgusting
taffy 5:48pm Sat 12 Apr

Dump Fort
If you want a future for this show, production company...dump Fort and do it swiftly.

wrong changes
This series is about the judges not the chefs..arrogant..self opinionated...awful..throwing out chefs..incredible..not watching the rest....rubbish
abe1 8:14pm Wed 6 Jun

Mr Nasty...Marcus Wareing
Once again as a judge, Marcus Wareing shows his unpleasant side...why does he always remind me of a nasty little school bully...snidey..mean marking...really find him unpleasant..cant find any redeeming features
Solonge 9:56am Wed 6 Jun

What time?
Love the show, but can't keep up with the constant time changes!

Marcus Waring is like a school diner cook - why is he on the show?
Jill 7:38pm Thu 10 May

rubbish
how can Marcus Waring mark so low. He always makes his favourite clear in the first programme Shan't be watching the rest of the series. What a let down

Eh?
Fois gras. Great BRITISH menu. Am I missing something???
Bigal 7:30pm Sun 6 May

downside on show
I thoroughly enjoy the Great British Menu - I also enjoy the final judges comments - not that I always agree with them - the negative issue for me is the arrogance of the 'judging' chefs - some more than others - Richard Corrigan for one, and the Scottish judge (name forgotten). Why are they always so negative - surely a little encouragement would go much further - is this for 'good tv viewing' or just a means of allowing them on a power trip! It's not that long ago that they were competing!
Dan G 6:50pm Wed 2 May

One of the best
Looking forward to the new series and seeing what some of the chefs cook. The fish course is usually my favourite mmmmmmm

The Narrartor
Your ears must be playing up because Jennie Bond it isnt!
scottyj10 3:45pm Wed 1 Jun

jenny Bond
PLEASE love the programme But Jenny Bond drives me mad with her southern drawl interspersed with the elongated A baaaaaaaaath instead of barth for example north or south Jenny not a mixture of the two delivered in a breathless drawl. Time for a change

my absolute fav cooking programme
I love this show! this 5th season was great, i absolutely love how they introduce more and more new chefs, and how they keeping the ones we already know in too. This is way beyond jamie or gordon ( who i love too :) (( btw, i would love to see them compete :) ) i have new favourite chefs like Jason Athenton, or glynn purnel or brynn williams or Jason Perry or Tristin ( im not sure abt the spellings, im sorry if they are incorrect ) It was funny to watch chefs judge, marcus wearing with his 2s and 3s :D and prince charles was cool too! he looks better as he gets older, he looked genuienly interested, and he is the future king! a few hundred years ago this programme would have been promoted with VIII. Henry :) I love the judges too, and the food too, i with Jenny Bond was at the banquet.. i would have liked to see her. I love the commentary tho.. especially in the last season, all the millitary talk was hillarious :) so thumbs up! Britain is a great nation! - A fan from Hungary

Dreadful Jenny Bond toned down
Yes, and they've toned dreadful Jenny Bond down soo she's not as irritating as in the past series. Full marks for that too. Full marks for an entertaintaing show with REAL talent.
Zippy 3:53pm Fri 4 Jun

Much better this time
Much better than past series when the public voted for dishes that they couldn't taste. How stupid was that. Full marks this time.

Great
I've really enjoyed this series. The banter between the chefs is very entertaining, as are the judges. And I agree, this is REAL talent on display.
JB Boots 7:12pm Fri 28 May

REAL talent!!
This programme is a showcase of REAL talent!! Unlike X factor and dancing on ice, this programme celebrates people who are at the top of their game! What a joy to watch!!!
Keeb 5:22pm Thu 6 May

'delish'
I agree, it is 'delish'. I am confined to a large mobility scooter and only leave my house to go to the Post Office or fetch my meals from Iceland, but like many on here I am inspired by these chefs.

GBM
I love this programme. The judges are perfect. Corr, that Michael Smith is hot. I'd be his commis any day. Just wish the Beeb would show more of the food prep and concentrate less on the walking down roads/into building shots.
Hot for Michael 8:40pm Fri 9 Apr

What, no Eggheads
What have you done with Eggheads?! I have nothing against GBM, that is UNLESS it is offered INSTEAD OF Eggheads - then I am 100% in favour of Eggheads and 0% in favour of GBM. How long will I have to wait for Eggheads to return? Lin

V Good programme
We plan our evenings round this programme and have for all the previous series too.

viewer vote
Who on earth thought that the trendy"people's vote"is a good idea for a cooking programme?. How can anyone possibly judge a dish without tasting it? It may bring in a bit of revenue, but is totally misplaced in this programme.
Jen. 7:55am Tue 26 May

complaint
I want to Know what is going on with Mathew Fort's Glasses surely he can afford a better pair of glaases tell him to go to Specsavers they will help him look a little less ridiculous than the green ones he is wearing now (thursday 22nd of may 2009 )he looks like professor Dumbledor... when dumbledore was in his rebbelious hippy wizard days .....
