Disappointing by comparison Danish original version was brilliant. Watched Series 1 of the American and although initially a good copy, found the ending very disappopinting.
Several months later, now seen first episode of new Series and even more disappointed. New characters and storylines appearing from nowhere, dialogue muffled. Just hope that makers don't try to spin it out to a third series but suspect that will be down to viewer figures. TVDavey5:04pm Thu 3 May

Disappointing No- the US just can't do understatement. It doesn't look right, and not a patch on the Danish dramas, even though it ois the same story basically. Something wrong with the characterisations.
Maybe if the Danes tried to play Americans it wouldn't work either. Agatha12:09am Thu 3 May

Best TV of 2011 The Swedish crime drama has silently accumulated a cult following on both sides of the Atlantic. With a strong female lead who doesn't use her sexuality as a source of power, the series was something fresh for 2011. Surprisingly, the US even managed to pull off a decent remake. the right one the c4 one is at its end so this comment is too late if guess. the danish one is the best by a long mark. the american show is very much watered down. the politics have almost been removed. an excellent show turned into twin peaks tr347211:03am Sun 11 Sep
why did Lund find something forensics didn't? eddacker10:19pm Thu 25 Aug
Wrong pic The pic shown is Mireille Enos who plays Sarah Linden in an American drama of the same title in English. This is the Danish version and Sofie Grabol plays Sarah Lund. Olaf8:23pm Thu 25 Aug
Americanisation doesn't work Original Danish series is far superior to this. Yes it was over 20 hours, it had subtitles and actors no one had seen BUT, brilliant plot (USA version has cut loads of subplots) very dark, shifting atmosphere in which everyone is a suspect. Just glued to BBC Four & iplayer for a solid month earlier this year. Johnny D11:28am Fri 22 Jul

SOOOO Good! The whole series is amazing! Keep watching! Fan2183:51pm Thu 14 Jul
Not nearly as good.. The story may be the same but this just does not have the brooding atmosphere of the original. The politician is a great let down. Agatha1:42pm Thu 14 Jul
To Toady Problem is that if you check the dates on the comments, you will see that they refer to the Danish original. TV Guide has applied the ratings of the original to this version and left all the comments on the original 'live'. Marisol7:16pm Wed 13 Jul

Why? Why do Americans have to rewrite everything? The original Danish version is so much better! Wickedwitchofthenorth4:27pm Fri 8 Jul
Stop Spoiling it!! Thought I would read some of the comments to see peoples reactions but instead I've been met with several comments that give away some of the plot. It was a wonderful feeling to watch something that I had no idea what was expected from it, but now I'm going to keep wandering where these parts of the story turn up and looking for them rather than paying attention. PLEASE remember that a lot of people haven't seen this yet Toady10:34pm Thu 7 Jul
