Excellent remake I saw the previous version donkeys years ago (1960's)& I disagree that this is somehow not as good. Pearce & Mumba both do a brilliant job & I think this is a great piece of entertainmant. A great movie & quite underrated. No dumbing down here. Frank6:47pm Sun 3 Feb

Brilliant The orginal movie is one of the real classics, the book by HG Wells is equally captivating!! Johnny M10:21am Christmas Day
Wrong Picture The description is from the 60s movie, yet the picture is from the modern version. Yaspaa12:42pm Fri 4 Jun
Amazing Looking Whatever the shortcomings of the script the production design is excellent and worth it for that. Natwestlondon12:22am Tue 5 Jan

To BlastarrBXIII... TV Guide lumps everything with the same title together, not just The Time Machine. Also, I entirely agree with your comment re. the two versions of TTM - the original is outstanding and I love every minute of it. The remake is, as with most remakes it seems, run of the mill at best. Sheridan1:44pm Sat 28 Mar
Lumping both Time Machine films together. Looks like both original and the remake are served by the one readers comments page.
The Original film, of 1960 vintage, (not 1968, typo error!) is the only one worth watching.
Just settle back and enjoy this 'timeless' classic.
Not as good as the original War of the Worlds, another H.G. Wells Sci-fi masterpiece, but it still holds it's own. BlastarrBXIII9:46am Sat 28 Mar
Read the review properly!!!. This IS the original Time Machine film.
The one made in 1968.
NOT the latest version.
OK, this website outfit has some photo of some bloke on this web page who may well be in the remake, but the discription of the film tells us Rod Taylor and Yvette Mimieux is in it.
The 1968 original version is a true Sci-fi classic.
It really gets that victorian feel to it.
H.G. Wells would have liked to have seen it.
I usually miss the first 10 minutes every time it is on.
Well worth a view, I could clobber a Morlock myself.
Oh, and Mimieux is quite fanciable in it as well. BlastarrBXIII9:32am Sat 28 Mar
Good Fun I just watched this with my younger brother and sister and it was entertaining rubbish, some nice aspects did help to ease effect of the bad script... over all a good family film George11:01pm Sat 30 Aug
Calling All Morons! Don't fault Guy Pearce; don't fault the production designers; don't fault anyone except the incredible moronic screenplay writer. His name is JOHN LOGAN. Remember that name. Logan is an AMERICAN screenwriter having lived in fabulous places like New Jersey and Mississippi. Logan has made a travesty of and disgraced the original material and insulted movie goers everywhere with his stupidity and arrogance. Watch it once to see how bad it is - then write to Dreamworks and tell them what you think of this idiot Logan.

Timed out I have seen this before. It is not a patch on the original, just another platform for special effects team. acme1:23am Sat 30 Aug
