Japanese Art Must watch
Studio Ghilbi Always seems to set up stories to match that of something we can relate too or show empathy/sympathy too. Princess Mononoke seems to give that side of human nature we rarely see. recommend watch

I'm not a big fan of Studio Ghibli, always a bit too dark and gloomy for my tastes but Princess Mononoke is a compelling story. It's best watched in it's original language but the English dubbing isn't too bad.

This is a fine piece of directing, film-making and story-telling. That it's animated allows it do things that would prob look v silly in CGI or be v expensive indeed (and require subtlety and action sequences difficult for a human cast). I prefer sub, but worth viewing in dub for good cast. Mix of magicalness and earthiness and characters that have shades of grey. V cool indeed.

masterpiece, not much more to be said.

fantastic film, certainly one of studio ghibli's finest. would recommend seeing full version as some key detail has been left out here, but otherwise well worth watching. although cutting has attempted to make this 'U', it must be remembered that Miyazaki's work is generally meant for family viewing. not to be missed.

One of Miyazaki's best films, becoming Japan's top grossing film before Titanic. Highly recommendable, despite some "violent" scenes cut out. The English dubbing tries it's best to translate the deep morals/Japan's history/culture within the film.
