Ambitious - and doesn't quite make it.
Even in almost 3 hours, the characterisation doesn't quite work. The fact that the acting is so wooden you could build a shed from it, doesn't help. Yes, it is intelligent and raises difficult questions...but...but.. Good try guys - but the comic remains the mark of excellence.

Moore Was Right!
This shouldn't have been turn into a movie! I loved reading the comic a chapter at a time, but to try and fit it all in to a overly long movie, madness! This movie is like a dumbed down version of the comic, like what happens with most of Moores stuff!

A Revelation
What a pleasant surprise to find such an intelligent and absorbing adult take on the Sci Fi superhero genre.

OVERRATED - DOESN'T EVEN COMPARE TO THE COMIC

No further Watchmen movie will be required
Watchmen the movie is ambitious, demanding, thrilling, intelligent and at times frustrating, but never less than compelling. This film isn't for everyone, but for those willing to invest in the story and characters there are rich rewards. A superb film from an exceptional source material. Unlike other 'superhero' movies this is not an interpretation and the series cannot be rebooted over and over again. This is a faithful telling of the original story and no further film version of Watchmen will be required. At 2 and 3/4 hours this is the shortest version of the film so not all the details are filled in, but if it hooks you it won't let you go.

Watchmen is not kiddies comic book outing! Dark is an understatement and has elements that some may find disturbingly close to reality

Super? Heroes?
This is a great take on the popular superhero theme. Using cyphers of Batman and Superman and a few more obscure comicbook characters it asks interesting questions about power; what makes some people dress up in tight costumes and go out and beat up bad guys? What effect would real "superpower" have on the world and the individual who has it? All packaged in a stylish film noir, murder mystery. This film has action, but it is about the characters more than anything else. At two and three quarter hours don't expect the Dark Knight, it is much deeper, and darker, than that.
