The comments are sickening. I didn't realise that there were so many sour people. I thought the contestants were inspiring

If ever the entirely brilliant Michel would like to quit the kitchen then he should become a psychotherapist because he's already half way there. The series was a masterpiece of one man's ability to develop a trusting relationship with a group of disenchanted youngsters and create a facilitating environment within which it was possible for them each to engage in a process of personal change. I found it moving beyond belief. Undoubtedly it addressed the shoddy attitude of 'service' which is all too acceptable in this country but, much more than that, it focussed on the concept of hope and the development of hope within those who had previously struggled to believe they had a credible future. The group of youngsters was well balanced in terms of individual strengths and was impressive in it's ability to grow as a supportive team. If anyone was not moved to tears by this programme then they have no soul and I can only hope the waiter drops your dinner in your lap when next you eat out.

What an inspiring programme. A group of young people who with the determination of Michel Roux and his colleagues, gave them self respect and pride in themselves. Also self discipline. It was a joy to watch the transformation each week. Michel Roux and his colleagues' approach to these youngsters was firm, solid, dignified and with laughter too. I hope we will see more in the future.

Niki(my daughter)has had an average middle class upbringing, has a degree in History and works very hard at everything she does. She has just finding it very hard to get a job along with thousands of other graduates. She is one other thing which clearly you are not. A nice person.

Everyone deserves a chance
I agree with some comments I from a middle class upbringing would never have been given this opportunity! but why shouldnt they Michel Roux could obviously see something in them and the way in which he dealt with all of the trainees was wonderful not at all condescending, but tried to bring out the best in all. Well Done

An uplifting show
Michel Roux is an absolute gentleman and, without shouting and swearing, has managed to get the very best out of these young people who all seemed a motley crew in the beginning. I normally hate reality TV, but this is the exception. I really hope that these young people, having had a taste of opportunity, all go on to have successful careers and lives
