The dealer recruits con artists Matron Jackie, Gideon and Henry the Hearse Chaser to attend an auction where he is selling a painting, to purposely bid against each other to bump up the price. However, Lady Jane also bids and after discovering the ruse concocts a plan to get her own back and wipe the smile off Lovejoy's face. Charlotte Cornwell guest stars with Ian McShane and Phyllis Logan
