Coverage of day four of the WTA 1000 and ATP 1000 event, a clay-court tournament that takes place at Foro Italico in Rome, Italy, featuring matches from the second round of the women's and men's draws. Six-time winner Novak Djokovic began last year's tournament as the number one seed and reigning champion, and got his campaign off to an excellent start by defeating Tomas Martin Etcheverry 7-6, 6-2 to progress to the third round. Great Britain's Cameron Norrie also booked his passage to the next round by recording a straight-sets victory as he triumphed 6-2, 6-3 over Alexandre Muller, who previously eliminated Kyle Edmund in round one
