Re-play of the programmes
I watched only part of this programme and would like to view it from the beginning, as I do with BBC iPlayer. Is this possible?

The stepson no one wants to talk about...
Having worked in the food industry for a number of years, I have been witness to many of the issues raised by the Food Unwrapped team. It's actually refreshing to have an outsider report it to the public as many in the industry want to keep the issue quite as upset to the system causes severe problems leading to job loss and considerable financial loss. Thank you Food Unwrapped for bringing out to the open something no one wants to address.

Poor research and dangerous claims
This show is poorly researched and contains very little useful information to anyone seriously wanting to learn about food in relation to their health. The claim that aspatame is safe that the show made on tonight's program was completely unfounded. I strongly advise that you do not take any advice recommended in this show and instead visit a trained nutritionist or herbalist if you want to make positive changes to your diet and health.

Dumbing Down on Channel 4
I was shocked at how awful this series is. Firstly, it is bemusing that they phone supermarket customer helplines asking very detailed questions that the person on the phone cannot possibly answer: great TV when people look stupid. The programme's presenters are simply asking the wrong people. The first programme in the series focussed on live yoghurt and asked where do these live cultures come from. The obvious question that was NOT asked was do these bacteria even survive past the stomach and reach the intestinal tract, which is where they are heavily advertised as being beneficial. The stomach contains strong hydrochloric acid which is effective at killing bacteria, so are we, the consumers, being ripped off with the promised benefits of live cultures? That question is too complicated for this dumbed down programme to answer. Hydrochloric acid was mentioned in the first half of the programme as it is used to remove the skin of grapefruit segments during the canning process. This would have been a nice link to the next article on live yoghurts (if they wished to answer the question above), but the presenter preferred to act in disbelief that this acid is used in food production: it's found naturally in your own stomach! The second programme featured one of the presenters, a CHEF, who stated that he had NEVER HEARD OF Clostridium botulinum. This is the bacteria that causes the deadly food poisoning botulism, and is taught to anyone taking a basic food hygiene qualification. Would you eat anything that a chef who has never heard of botulism had prepared? It is extremely interesting to see how food is produced, but this programme fails to be hard-hitting by being too simplistic in its execution.
