Good entertainment with its twists and turns plus well placed subtle humour. Then you get the dark side of the hangman's noose. All very authentic.

This is a programme that you can actually look foward to watching, Mark Williams and all the cast are brilliant and believable as the people they portray, lots of humour and great locations, it manages to tell a good story in half the time given to Midsomer murders which is now a poor resemblance of what it used to be.

It looks like apart from the latest Series, the BBC are also repeating episodes of all previous Series. Yet they have dropped the best daytime Drama, WPC 56.

A lovely bit of social history beautifully acted in lovely surroundings. Very English. A gem. Well done.

Midsomer murders, and Poirot are too complicated. This is beautifully staged, and simple without being obvious. Pity it has now finished.

Why bury it in the daytime?
Great acting from Mark Williams and Co., attractive production, interesting plots....why no showing in the evening and weekend?

Great daytime TV.
This would be pleasant enough at peak time but for daytime TV it is excellent

Really enjoying this every afternoon. Along the lines of Agatha Christie and Midsommer - superb.
