Not a Patch on the Original...
Gort was the star of the show in the original... and this one as well!

The ending
Very weak ending. Mankind would never change. Should have destroyed mankind.

9/10 for the original...
...and 7/10 for the remake.
I think that's fair.   9:19am Fri 9 May Report Abuse

C'mon you guys..
It's not that bad..lol! I never heard of the original before this one hit the cinemas, so I watched this one first then watched the original too. I liked them both, but if I'm honest, I think I like this one best. Keanu Reeves is a very convincing Klaatu who is torn between fighting the humans or destroying their race. I still think the remake was a good idea for people like me who didn't know the original because we're not die-hard sci-fi fans. Got 2 thumbs up from me

this is crap, watch the B/W from the 50s, far better.

Don't bother
Watch the original instead as apart from being in black and white it's aged well.
Hugo Gernsback   10:46pm Sun 4 Dec Report Abuse

totally unnecessary remake of a classic, this version is complete crap.
TOPWAK (THE VOICE OF REASON)   8:32pm Sun 4 Dec Report Abuse

More like time standing still
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz   7:51pm Sun 4 Dec Report Abuse

So so
Nothing like as good as the original, but watchable if you are bored.

this has got to be
one of the worst remakes ever made.
