A recount of the Battle of Gettysburg, when for three days in July 1863 men belonging to the Army of the Potomac and the Army of Northern Virginia fought in the Pennsylvania countryside. The battle recorded the single largest number of casualties of the Civil War, with over 40,000 of the 150,000 fighters being killed, and is regarded as a turning point in the conflict
