Two years ago, Michelle and Rod Malone set about adapting their home after daughter Maddie contracted a rare brain disease that left her struggling to walk and talk. However, unforeseen problems with the project left them living in just a couple of rooms in an unsafe house. Enter Nick Knowles and the DIY SOS builders, bolstered by an army of local tradespeople, to complete what the Malones started and give it a few finishing touches, courtesy of flamboyant designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen
