@Filmhead The reason the 'synthetic' guy is running the expedition is because he is the guy the android is based on. Built by the company he created. The girl running with the Predator was taken from one of the old books based on this idea.
Otherwise this is an atrocious movie that is all action and little else. The aliens throw each other through walls with little damage done. The Predators also look beefed up and not the better for it. This is a children's idea of a movie. Hugle McDoogle10:09pm Wed 11 Apr

What a waste of a good idea The idea of these two baddies fighting it out and the story behind it is a great idea. But that's where it ends; there are many discrepancies, not least that the 'synthetic' from Alien 3 is the guy now running the expedition!
The ice hole was clearly made by a machine etc. Oh and the girl running with the Predator? come on!
Alien with the predator net over him bleeds acid blood from the head when this part of its body is impervious to acid!
Great idea totally screwed. Only kids will like it.

the best way to spoil two great franchises I'm a great fan of the Alien franchise (my favourite movie of all time is Aliens) and Predator. I've read the AvsP comics and played the videogames (the arcade and the first person shooters) and I thought that mixing the two beast was awesome... until this.

great I think that this film was AMZAING!! it is soo good you would be silly not to. All the way through you'll be on the edge of your seat. It is slightly cheesy in as much as the story line is quite predictable but at the same time, realistic. A concept which had potential, and deserved a far better treatment than it got. After two excellent, one pretty good and one desperately average instalment in the Alien series, it was pretty clear where any future sequels were going. Unsympathetic cardboard characters, repetitive and lacklustre action scenes and a general lack of directorial finesse make this a film to be watched with your brain firmly in neutral.
