countrywise 21st June 2012. Could anyone please tell me what the piece of music was they played on the programme on June. when Bettany Hughes went to Kidwelly Castle. It was the Cello piece that played in the background just after Bettany met Janet Jones.
Countrywise is lovely, covers pleasant interesting things in just the right amount. floral.12:22am Wed 27 Jun

drovers route I believe we have a farm in my town which was used by drovers to rest their cattle.there is a welsh drover buried in the old cemetery, and the town is mentioned as a destination in ancient drovers routes.
Horsham West Sussex, the farm may have anglo saxon history also, and is under pressure to be used for building houses. idris9:25pm Tue 28 Jun
Lovely programme A lovely, gentle programme and were it not for the intrusive adverts I'd say it has the edge over the BBC's Countryfile. Cuckoo5:04pm Mon 27 Jun

Real Countryside Thanks Countrywise for showing the true countryside ways of life such as grouse moor managment and the benefit that shooting brings to communities and ultimately free range food for the table - BBC's Countryfile would not dare show these topics without some ill informed representative from LACS or similar group. Can't Acess the programme on the ITV Player I missed the first episode on 3 December in The Lake District and thought I could catch up with it. No such luck. Why does ITV insist on only concentrating on soaps and live shows. The quality programmes seem to get short changed. What little I was able to watch, the first part but not even to the advertising break seemed excellent. I live in hope of finally seeing the rest. I shall make sure I tape or watch the future episodes of this series. Helene12:38am Mon 6 Dec
Ventnor Botanical Gardens Have just watched Countrywise (Mon 4th Oct) and there was an item on Ventnor Botanical Gardens, the absolutely beautiful haven of peace and quiet and incredible plants trees and flowers on our fabulous Island. If you have visited the Gardens, or loved what you saw and would like to visit them I'm afraid the Isle of Wight Council are threatening to withdraw funding for the Gardens from this year, the decision will be made in December this year, please if you could support the Gardens would you fill in the form at Save Ventnor Botanical Gardens on Facebook or write to George Brown at the Isle of Wight Council Offices to show your disapproval of what they are planning to do. The Gardens would then be in Private hands and a if we lose them now we shall never have them back again, please help us to keep the Botanical Gardens that Islanders and thousands of visitors from all over the world enjoy every year, thank you! skully8:21pm Mon 4 Oct
Music, There was a piece of instrumental music in the middle of the show which I am sure appears in a film. Anyone know the name of it please? Steve1:53pm Thu 23 Sep
Music I have just watched the programme tonight and it was totally spoiled by the tinkling of the piano whilst people were speeaking, what is it about this latest fad of music being louder than the speaker, it is spoiling programmes and makes me want to change channels. Please STOP this. Aries10:56pm Mon 20 Sep

re Hour-long episode 30th December , 2009 I missed this episode of Countrytracks which I am anxious to see. I am hoping that it is absent from "catch up" because of the Bank Holiday. Anyway, please let me request the repeat of same on TV or putting it on "catch up". Thank you. J-bird7:50pm New Years Day

Programming Brilliant programme, but where is the Victorian Farm?? I think I may have seen the advert in a tour guide when I was on holiday in Norfolk. Showjumper12:02am Fri 21 Aug
Season 1 Episode 12 Paul Heiney asked why the cart in the Haywain was in the water. Many years ago on a country programme - the Presenter's name escapes me - we were told that almost certainly the wooden wheels had dried and shrunk and loosened the iron band tyres so the water would swell the wood and make a good fit again. Love the programme and in fact anything that Paul Heiney does is compulsive viewing Joywheel9:20am Fri 12 Jun
