Banks
Disagree. It is not good acting because he is a misery anyway. Recently seen him getting interviewed and he is a right turn off! If only they found an actor with charisma instead.

Banks
Agree with Mr Happy. Banks gets more ugly each series and has a permanent scowl on his face.l. Cannot bear to watch because of him..

Drawn out yawn
The books are as wonderful as this series is woeful. Banks is so sour in looks and action that the milk goes off the moment it leaves the bottle

Crime Drama
Having read all the books I still cannot make up my mind on the lead role, am looking rorward to this tonight, as it`s right up my street, real people, real and believable story lines.

Brilliant
This guy, the cast, place and time line are great. Fairly close to the books. Look forward to more. Dare I say the new Morse

Yawn!
DCI Banks takes two long episodes that CSI could work out in half hour and be better entertainment.

Miseryguts
Why a family related story to make DCI Bates even more stoney-faced. As detective series goes he is a right turnoff.
