Forget the other reviews
They are for the original. This is the vastly superior remake staring Sly. If you have seen the poor original you will know what to expect, more or less. However, both the acting and action has upped the ante no ends. DO NOT MISS!!!

Problems at TVGuide?
I find it very hard to believe that the awful remake of 'Get Carter' has hot 8.4. Especially when most (all?) of the reviews are talking about the original version. Obviously TVGuide's database can't tell the difference between programmes with the same name. Really disappointing. Sort it out people!

EDGE OF SEAT
Great film, Ian Hendry, Bryan Mosley, George Sewell with no nonesense Michael Caine as Carter. But although he 'saw off' a number of people I didn't like the ending where he got the 'chop' as well.

Classic
Michael Caine at his best in this gritty film set in the NorthEast of England, keep an eye out for Bryan Mosley before he was Alf Roberts in Coronation street! This really is a film I can watch again and again excellent and a classic.

Brilliant
Great film. Michael Caine awesome. This film is gritty and in no way glorifies the violence like other films....
