Great BRITISH menu. Am I missing something??? Bigal7:30pm Sun 6 May
downside on show I thoroughly enjoy the Great British Menu - I also enjoy the final judges comments - not that I always agree with them - the negative issue for me is the arrogance of the 'judging' chefs - some more than others - Richard Corrigan for one, and the Scottish judge (name forgotten). Why are they always so negative - surely a little encouragement would go much further - is this for 'good tv viewing' or just a means of allowing them on a power trip! It's not that long ago that they were competing! Dan G6:50pm Wed 2 May
One of the best Looking forward to the new series and seeing what some of the chefs cook. The fish course is usually my favourite mmmmmmm Starry1:16am Mon 9 Apr
The Narrartor Your ears must be playing up because Jennie Bond it isnt! scottyj103:45pm Wed 1 Jun
jenny Bond PLEASE love the programme But Jenny Bond drives me mad with her southern drawl interspersed with the elongated A baaaaaaaaath instead of barth for example north or south Jenny not a mixture of the two delivered in a breathless drawl. Time for a change salome5:22pm Sat 21 May

my absolute fav cooking programme I love this show! this 5th season was great, i absolutely love how they introduce more and more new chefs, and how they keeping the ones we already know in too. This is way beyond jamie or gordon ( who i love too :) (( btw, i would love to see them compete :) ) i have new favourite chefs like Jason Athenton, or glynn purnel or brynn williams or Jason Perry or Tristin ( im not sure abt the spellings, im sorry if they are incorrect ) It was funny to watch chefs judge, marcus wearing with his 2s and 3s :D and prince charles was cool too! he looks better as he gets older, he looked genuienly interested, and he is the future king! a few hundred years ago this programme would have been promoted with VIII. Henry :)
I love the judges too, and the food too, i with Jenny Bond was at the banquet.. i would have liked to see her. I love the commentary tho.. especially in the last season, all the millitary talk was hillarious :) so thumbs up! Britain is a great nation!

Dreadful Jenny Bond toned down Yes, and they've toned dreadful Jenny Bond down soo she's not as irritating as in the past series. Full marks for that too.
Full marks for an entertaintaing show with REAL talent. Zippy3:53pm Fri 4 Jun
Much better this time Much better than past series when the public voted for dishes that they couldn't taste. How stupid was that.
Full marks this time. Bertrum Bright3:48pm Fri 4 Jun
Great I've really enjoyed this series. The banter between the chefs is very entertaining, as are the judges.
And I agree, this is REAL talent on display. JB Boots7:12pm Fri 28 May
REAL talent!! This programme is a showcase of REAL talent!! Unlike X factor and dancing on ice, this programme celebrates people who are at the top of their game! What a joy to watch!!! Keeb5:22pm Thu 6 May
'delish' I agree, it is 'delish'. I am confined to a large mobility scooter and only leave my house to go to the Post Office or fetch my meals from Iceland, but like many on here I am inspired by these chefs. trash man2:21am Wed 5 May
gbm is back i looove this show it rocks!!!!!! i'm not sure about the voting though how can u vote unless you've tried the food. god,i wish i could try the food it looks delish!!!!!!!!!! drat5:34pm Wed 14 Apr
GBM I love this programme. The judges are perfect. Corr, that Michael Smith is hot. I'd be his commis any day. Just wish the Beeb would show more of the food prep and concentrate less on the walking down roads/into building shots. Hot for Michael8:40pm Fri 9 Apr
What, no Eggheads What have you done with Eggheads?! I have nothing against GBM, that is UNLESS it is offered INSTEAD OF Eggheads - then I am 100% in favour of Eggheads and 0% in favour of GBM. How long will I have to wait for Eggheads to return? Lin Lin 4:33pm Tue 6 Apr
V Good programme We plan our evenings round this programme and have for all the previous series too. LoCo3:51pm Tue 26 May
viewer vote Who on earth thought that the trendy"people's vote"is a good idea for a cooking programme?. How can anyone possibly judge a dish without tasting it? It may bring in a bit of revenue, but is totally misplaced in this programme. Jen.7:55am Tue 26 May
complaint I want to Know what is going on with Mathew Fort's Glasses surely he can afford a better pair of glaases tell him to go to Specsavers they will help him look a little less ridiculous than the green ones he is wearing now (thursday 22nd of may 2009 )he looks like professor Dumbledor... when dumbledore was in his rebbelious hippy wizard days ..... caz6:48pm Fri 22 May
Lets have a professional proramme I am fed up with this programme being spoilt by Jenny Bond trying to generate or imply animosity between the chefs. It demeans the programme. pee bee6:39pm Fri 22 May
Not Belly Pork again Too many of the chefs are using belly pork - it may be fashionable but I can't imagine why anyone would consider it a fit dish for a banquet. It is something you cook because you can't afford anything better. Full of fat and although tastey enough
it is not exactly something to treat the troups to who have been fighting for queen and country. Hilary1:48pm Fri 15 May
where's the pork ? When the chefs wonder what the troops would like to eat, they should actually wonder what food the troops have been missing out on! So why all the lamb (when they probably had that over in Afghanistan) ? and where's the pork (which may have been a little more difficult to get hold of in a Muslim country) ?
When I returned from the Balkans (true, not the same mission), all I wanted was a nice big juicy piece of beef and a great thick pork chop. So which food have the troops really been missing ?? In the forces myself.6:59pm Wed 13 May
Still Great! It's not a programme for everyone, but it is a programme for real foodies. I hated the theme this year, because I thought that it could not match up to the difficulty of last year's competition. I was wrong. This is far more difficult for the chefs. There menus have to appeal to all sorts, from Privates to Colonels and yet still be "Haute Cuisine". Most chefs are failing.
I just love this series! Marc8:02pm Sun 3 May
Great British menu? Or the most expensive restaurant?
The ingredients are hardly British or is it changing with the times?
A real british dish is boiled to death, roasted or one-pot stew (from Victorian times).
The rich had a different menu.

Had its time... This was a great show when it first came out - it's remit being to decide the best menu britain has to offer.
Then it was a victim of its own success, and, like everything with the BBC, they then flog anything remotely popular to death by dragging the idea out until its so weak its purile.
It's no longer about its title "Great British Menu", its just a cooking show... one finding ever-more weaker excuses to cook as each new series comes around.
This year - cooking a menu for returning troops from Iraq!!! Wow! Im guessing next year it'll be retiring bus drivers, and the year after feeding the poor.
Same old BBC.... nice show drawn out and stretched to breaking point just for being mildly successful. New Ideas Please!6:55pm Wed 1 Apr
Not again God! it`s like flogging a dead horse again.
Boring voice over, dreary judges and the first of 46.:-( mr happy6:34pm Mon 30 Mar

GBM Enjoyed the programme while having dinner. Made me want something better. Shame about the Irish prat on the juding panel though. Liked Matthew.
With all of the piling up of food, is it ever hot when it arrives in front of the diner? Mad about food (and it shows)10:59am Wed 28 May

Jenny Bond I like Jenny! Almost as much as i like egg and chips. Jenny, just to make those unaware aware, was a lovely girl. Even though she became pregnant at 14 she looked after Boris and the baby with great aplomb. Egg and chips!! Yes, they were always on the table when Boris returned from his pimping duties. Lovely girl! Anon12:08pm Tue 15 Apr
Jenny who? agreed jenny bond, ex royal correspondent, wow.
How about someone with some credibility, Harry Hill or Bear Grylls. ?
