Film The Great Gatsby (1974)
Robert Redford stars in this adaptation of F Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel as a nouveau riche socialite with a murky past. A young man from the Midwest finds himself drawn into the playboy's glamorous world, and witnesses his ultimately tragic efforts to win back the love of his life, now married to a far more respectable husband. Sam Waterston, Bruce Dern, Karen Black and Scott Wilson also star in this glossy drama, which scooped Academy Awards for costumes and musical score
