Withering Heights Really Enjoyed watching the Olivia-Oberon version but what happened to the second half of the film ? Cathy 3:46am Mon 2 Nov
wuthering heights Too much rain, too dark, not enough dialogue, unconvincing Cathy and Heathcliff. Couldn't feel the love between them. This film usually makes me cry. I did not shed a tear, it left me unmoved. very poor adaptation. square-eyes1:41am Sun 30 Dec

What the Hell No version of Wuthering Heights ive seen as represented the story as Emily Bronte tells it, not even the 1939 version. Why is this??????????? Mel12:22am Sun 27 Sep
hmmmm half-baked. smarmy. and TERRIBLE common accents. heathcliff's HOT though! jade7:18pm Sun 13 Sep
Why O Why Why make a classic and then cut piece out of the two major speeches by heathcliffe and kathy? maybe you know better than emily bronte? wrong to change where change is not needede. devotee8:47pm Wed 2 Sep
Erm... Did I nod off?
Isabella is left snivveling on t'moor, never to be heard of again. Hindley goes off to t'pub, never to be heard of again.
Suddenly lots of young people are here (we have no explanation as to who they are and what there part in the whole dramatic denouement is. Then Heathcliff blows his brains out and it's all tickety boo.
Unmoved.... Unimpressed12:36pm Tue 1 Sep
Repeated? Laura - Both episodes are available via the online ITV Player for the next week or so.
Just Google 'ITVPLayer'. Voila! Most TV stations now have an online repeat/catch-up service.
Or use Virgin TV On Demand if you have their set top box (it's free)

Where's the 2nd generation??? I'll be watching the last episode tonight, in the forlorn hope of seeing the 2nd generation which provides - if not redemption, some resolution to the original story. Also hoping Heathcliff will be less drippy and Cathy will be less bratty.
I am so fed up with the endless films which constantly miss out the 2nd generation, and want to make the "greatest love story ever told". It's not a love story. Its a gothic ghost tale of obsession, dysfunctional relationships/families, misplaced pride, etc. etc.
Please will someone make a film that relates to the book???? Sigh.... Aspidistra 5:15pm Mon 31 Aug
Disapointing Bit of a let down really 6/104:49pm Mon 31 Aug
Repeated? Anyone know when/if the first part will be repeated? Or whether this is going to be released on dvd? Laura4:45pm Mon 31 Aug
FAB What a cast. The hatred is tangible between Heathcliff and Hindley. Good job, Coky, Peter and cast Top Hat3:23pm Mon 31 Aug

Hmm Im confused Vanna, how do you know its not as good as the 1939 version before its even aired, its not even been on TV yet so surely its to early to decide such things. Personally, im looking forward to it mainly because Jack Shepherd is supposed to be in it. I care not for classics that are so far before my own time so this is most likely the only version I will see. Jay4:37pm Fri 28 Aug
Not nearly as good as... the classic 1939 version with Laurence Olivier and Merle Oberon. Vanna3:48pm Sun 15 Mar
