The actor returns to explore more of the region, beginning with Papua New Guinea, journeying west across the Pacific to the Trobriand Islands. Subsistence farmers give Martin a warm welcome and he is soon put to work filling the ceremonial house with their staple crop of yams, before they play a game of cricket. He then heads to East New Britain, where he witnesses the population take to the streets to celebrate the anniversary of both their independence and the volcanic eruptions that have shaped the landscape
