This is one of the best shows on TV at present, but disappointed that the lovely Kate played by Rachel Hurd Wood has been in only the first episode of Series 2.

I do not think most folk would pick up on such things especially younger generations. I was born in 1948 and did not notice as I am enjoying the stories and the superb acting. I also watch the sixties drama series on ITV when the background music can be anything from the 50s to the 70s but heh so what.

Your research is very sloppy. The Spitfire in the opening sequence is a Mk 9 which was not in service until 1942 and it has D Day stripes. They is also mentioning of mouth to mouth resuscitation which was not invented until the 50s. In another airfield scene, some Bristol Hercules engines are shown. Seeing as the Spitfire and Hurricane were Merlin powered these radial engines would not have been on a day fighter base. Finally the son of Francesca Annis's character was introduced as a squadron leader but was showing the rank of a wing commander

I'm sorry but it's sloppy, and it would have been simple not to have that one in the foreground. if you don't like it, hard luck. What i said was a fact not an opinion. What next, beatles music and miniskirts in 1940?

on the box for ages with or without the authenticity in the detail. It is entertainment not a history lesson!

It's supposed to be 1940 but the spitfire in the opening sequence has 1944 invasion stripes
