Panorama standard drops
I got the impression that "The Great Implant Scandal" was not so much an investigation into medical devices in the body as a showcase for Deborah Cohen. Is Panorama becoming as dumbed down as so many of our programmes seemed to be these days?

Neil
So glad you didn't get "unsettled" with stage whispers on this occasion. Oh and you managed to stay awake too. Praise be!

My review of Panorama
20:30-19.11.2018 Tonight's programme was very interesting! I learned allot from it and can identify with this. I was approached on facebook by a man who first wanted me to provide labour in Africa, he then (months later) wanted me to send him money. The gentleman who paid allot of money to woman at least had what appeared to be a happy ending. No stage whispers in tonight's programme.

Stage Whispering
It's not as if it's Frankie Howard is it? Although Miranda Hart does a good imitation unfortunately.

There's stage whispering in everything you watch. Is your hearing aid on the blink

My review of Panorama
This programme had little or no stage whispering. I liked it, but wish for these kind of programmes to be with a neutral review. I would watch it again!

Hogwash
What about the domino effect. Jobs given up to care, subsequent loss in tax revenue, resulting in claims for housing, caring etc benefits plus provision of mobility vehicles in many cases. Not to mention the drain on resources, increased waiting lists, demands on the ambulance service. All the consequences of self affliction on the whole and who is paying for it ? People who pay their dues and maintain their health whenever possible, that's who!

To Eric @ Benefits Cap Wed 5th Apr
I don't know what you're bothered about. 80% - 90% of the price of cigarettes is 'returned' directly to the taxpayer at point of sale. Alcohol is not much different. This appears very efficient. Smokers raise about £12 billion per year in taxes and healhcare costs for smoking related treatment costs the NHS between £2 - £6 billion a year. If you're worried about what is happening to your tax money then making smoking mandatory for all taxpayers would be the best method to help keep your coffers full if it's that important to you.

Benefit cap
I think the benefit cap is right £40 spent on cigarettes and beer in stead of heating he has his priorities wrong benefit is for rent, bills and food. If they want cigarettes and beer go and get a job it's wrong that they can buy things like that with benefit money, it's about time they got voucher to make sure the money is being spent properly rather than paying there rent, it's a disgrace that this is allowed to happen from our tax money.

A report on whether a crisis point in education funding has been reached, with cameras following staff and pupils at North Dene Primary in Great Yarmouth through a challenging summer term. To balance the books, the headteacher has to lose almost a fifth of her staff and cut services that help families in the wider community. Boris Johnson has pledged to boost school funding - but will it be enough, and will the extra money go to the schools that need it most?
