A text from Chas reminded her about Cain\u2019s upcoming surprise birthday party, but she and Matty were more focused on her treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Phoning the station, Moira was infuriated to learn that Cain had already been released \u2013 and gone AWOL again. There, he set about pounding beers by himself. It was there that he was found by Liam, who was worried to hear that his friend hadn\u2019t been home yet.<\/p><div class=\"dbxgas:ad-container dbxgas:double-mpu-container dbxgas:block dbxgas:md:hidden\"><div class=\"dbxgas:slot\" data-ad-slot=\"inarticle\"><\/div><\/div>\n<p>Hauling Cain home (and apparently leaving three unopened beers at the wayside!), Liam dropped the drunken Dingle off, where he was full of (slurred) apologies. Moira ruined the surprise element of his upcoming party, warning him that he needed to get his act together for the kids\u2019 sake.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s something I need to tell you,\u201d he responded, his guilt weighing heavy.<\/p>\n<p>And, on the verge of confessing, he was shocked to learn that Moira still needs radiotherapy for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvguide.co.uk\/emmerdale-insider\/tag\/moiras-health-crisis-in-emmerdale\/\">a tumour<\/a> that could yet come back.<\/p><div class=\"dbxgas:ad-container dbxgas:double-mpu-container dbxgas:block dbxgas:md:hidden\"><div class=\"dbxgas:slot\" data-ad-slot=\"inarticle\"><\/div><\/div>\n<p>She then informed him that, as he couldn\u2019t be trusted, she\u2019d face the rest of her treatment alone. Well done, Cain.<\/p>\n<h2>April learned the truth about her mum\u2019s death<\/h2>\n<p>Ross started the morning by vomiting up the bottle of vodka he\u2019d confiscated from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvguide.co.uk\/emmerdale-insider\/tag\/april-windsor\/\">April<\/a>. Finding him in his car, she was appropriately grossed out by his current living situation. When he told her how he was planning on leaving the village, the youth beseeched that he stay and teach her more about her mother.<\/p><div class=\"dbxgas:ad-container dbxgas:double-mpu-container dbxgas:block dbxgas:md:hidden\"><div class=\"dbxgas:slot\" data-ad-slot=\"inarticle\"><\/div><\/div>\n<p>Reluctantly, Ross agreed. Over lunch at the Hide, he fielded some difficult questions about mum Donna.<\/p>\n<p>However, Ross\u2019s excuses for Donna\u2019s death didn\u2019t sit right with April. And, as he kept digging himself into a hole, April learned how <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvguide.co.uk\/emmerdale-insider\/2024\/12\/04\/emmerdale-donna-windsor-romance-ross-barton-tragic-death\/\">her mum had actually died trying to protect her<\/a>. Talk about making a bad situation worse. Describing himself as an \u2018overprotective dad,\u2019 he managed to smooth things over \u2013 while Steph volunteered her mum to make a coffee for Anthony.<\/p>\n<p>She also had Ruby score an invite for Anthony to Cain\u2019s birthday party before flouncing out to work.
