myself a Christian.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sam was having none of it though, and reminded them what Tom had done. He insisted that this changed nothing. He acted embarrassed as he said: \u201cGreat, now everyone knows what I have done.\u201d But once he was alone, he laughed.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\"> Perhaps a psychological assessment isn\u2019t such a bad idea\u2026<\/span><\/p><div class=\"dbxgas:ad-container dbxgas:double-mpu-container dbxgas:block dbxgas:md:hidden\"><div class=\"dbxgas:slot\" data-ad-slot=\"inarticle\"><\/div><\/div>\n<p>Later on, Tom\u2019s solicitor pal Ollie asked Tom, \u201cSo this was your other way out?\u201d Tom responded: \u201cDesperate times call for desperate measures.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ollie pointed out that Tom\u2019s knowledge of anatomy might have come in useful here. Tom said: \u201cWell maybe if I was a dog or a rat.\u201d If the cap fits, Tom.<\/p>\n<p>Ollie told Tom he will be assessed and a psychologist will decide if he is fit to stand trial. This was music to Tom\u2019s ears, who realised that the trial might not go ahead if he is a suicide risk. Ollie was sure that had been Tom\u2019s plan all along. \u201cWhat are you suggesting Ollie? That I did all this to somehow manipulate the system?,\u201d asked Tom. Well, yes.<\/p><div class=\"dbxgas:ad-container dbxgas:double-mpu-container dbxgas:block dbxgas:md:hidden\"><div class=\"dbxgas:slot\" data-ad-slot=\"inarticle\"><\/div><\/div>\n<p>But Tom\u2019s plan was a bit more complex than that. As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tvguide.co.uk\/emmerdale-insider\/tag\/belle-dingle\/\">Belle<\/a> was shown sitting alone and looking contemplative, Tom\u2019s voice was heard saying: \u201cOf course, there is a chance that something like this might make Belle reconsider her actions. It would be hard for her to testify. Repeating all the vicious lies, knowing how far it\u2019s pushed me.
