Fans of Emmerdale have been left fuming at two notable absences as the village prepares for Leyla\u2019s funeral. This comes as Jacob was forced to say goodbye to mum Leyla Harding<\/a> when she was killed in last month\u2019s limousine crash.<\/p>

During the fallout, Jacob has struggled with the pain of losing his mum, and this week began funeral arrangements. Many had assumed that this meant that Alicia Gallagher and David Metcalfe would return to the soap<\/a> to pay their last respects.<\/p>\n

Alicia was Leyla\u2019s sister and is Jacob\u2019s biological mother. Alicia left the soap in 2015, beginning a new life in Portugal with Jacob. While he returned, she did not \u2013 and hasn\u2019t been seen since.<\/p>\n

David, meanwhile, was a father figure to Jacob through his relationships with both Leyla and Alicia. He left the soap in 2023, after learning of Jacob\u2019s relationship with partner Victoria.<\/p>
