It\u2019s fair to say the Joe Tate storyline in Emmerdale has left us more than a little confused<\/a>. From his kidney theft plot to his romance with Dawn, we wanted some answers.<\/p>

As the soap lines up a whodunnit for Joe, with plenty of suspects in the frame, Ned Porteous chatted to Emmerdale Insider and other media about his complex character \u2013 and complex plots!<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s what he told us about all the questions we wanted answering \u2013 but he wouldn\u2019t reveal who attacks<\/a> him this week.<\/p>\n

Why didn\u2019t Joe just ask for a kidney?<\/h2>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s way boring!\u201d Ned joked. He has a point \u2013 where would we be without this drama?!<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s probably a more tactful way to go around doing what he has to do,\u201d Ned continued. \u201cBut I have to find a way to empathise with why he gets put in tricky positions, there\u2019s a reason for motivating your character to do what he\u2019s doing. Not excusing him, though!\u201d<\/p>
