ITV has announced that its flagship soaps Emmerdale<\/a> and Coronation Street will join forces next year for a one-off special episode.<\/p>

This imaginative crossover will launch the broadcaster\u2019s new soap power hour<\/a>, which begins on ITV1 and STV in January 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n

For one night only, viewers will see two of their favourite communities come together.<\/p>\n

Emmerdale and Coronation Street crossover announced<\/h2>\n

In a press release, ITV announced: \u201cFor the first time in British soap history, the hour-long episode will see characters from both soaps come together in a celebration of the soap genre.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTo herald the beginning of the new scheduling pattern, both soaps will mark the occasion in spectacular style, as the combined production teams embark on an ambitious stunt that will have everlasting consequences for everyone involved.<\/p>
