The van soon stopped in the middle of nowhere, with John pointing out that he couldn\u2019t hear any noise. When John stepped out of the back of the truck, he was confronted by Caleb pointing a shotgun at him.<\/p>\n<p>But if John thought it was just Caleb he had to deal with, he was wrong.\u00a0In a twist he didn\u2019t see coming, Caleb told John: \u201cI think there\u2019s been some kind of misunderstanding. See, I\u2019m not the one who\u2019s gonna put a bullet in your brain.\u201d John then turned around to see Cain approaching.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><section And then you wormed your way into my family. You made everyone think that he\u2019d abandoned us. And then you even turned up at his funeral, carried his coffin. You said Tracy\u2019s words, and then you watched me put my son in the ground. After Cain forced John into a hole he\u2019d dug, John played he trump card and told the brothers that he has scheduled an email to be sent to the police detailing everything that happened to Anthony. John told them that if he is not alive to stop it then it\u2019ll be sent first thing tomorrow morning. \u201cYour whole family will be sent down for this. Ruby will go down for murder. The only way to save her and your family is to let me go.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cain was sure he was lying, but a cautious Caleb said: \u201cWhat if he\u2019s not?\u201d Caleb also warned Cain that he could go to prison if he kills John.<\/p><div class=\"dbxgas:ad-container dbxgas:double-mpu-container dbxgas:block dbxgas:md:hidden\"><div class=\"dbxgas:slot\" data-ad-slot=\"inarticle\"><\/div><\/div>\n<p>Seeing sense, Cain told John: \u201cEvery part of me wants to kill you, but I\u2019m not going to because I\u2019m not you.\u201d He then said he\u2019d be happy to see John behind bars for the rest of his life.<\/p>\n<p>However, John quickly pointed out that prison was not part of the deal \u2013 he wants freedom. He claimed that if he gets arrested, the email will be sent. Here's what else happened in Emmerdale tonight.<\/p>\n<h2>Caleb lied to Ruby and Jai<\/h2>\n<p>In order to enact his John plan, Caleb had to lie to his wife and colleague. Ruby caught him trying to sneak out of the house. He told her he had to take an overnight work trip to Rotterdam.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>At the Depot, in order to get him out the way, Caleb sent Jai to Leeds for a meeting. He pretended he was sending Jai as Jai had asked for more responsibility.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Jai almost caught John, as he returned to the Depot shortly after due to Caleb not having given him the name of the person he was supposed to be meeting. Caleb quickly gave the name Gary Glynn and sent Jai on his way. He later lied to Ruby again, when she called him, claiming that he had just stepped out of the van for some air.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Chas was worried about Aaron<\/h2>\n<p>Chas visited Caleb and Ruby after the police wouldn't let her into Aaron's place to pick up some bits.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Caleb shared that he'd seen Cain, with Chas responding: \"Saw him? Or heard him shouting his mouth off?\" While Chas said she understands why he's in a bad way, she pointed out that Aaron is a mess too and doesn't need his uncle making everything worse.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>After Caleb left, Chas admitted to Ruby that Aaron is scared. She confessed she is worried too \u2013 especially about John potentially coming back. Ruby looked thoughtful as Chas said Aaron has all these thoughts going round his head and there is nothing she can do to make it better.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Ruby supported Aaron<\/h2>\n<p>Following Chas's words, Ruby decided to head to the hospital. Having previously bonded over their shared abuse trauma, Ruby figured Aaron might listen to her.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>She joked about hospitals not serving wine before getting into the deep stuff. Aaron was quick to open up to Ruby, telling her he can't believe he let someone hurt him again.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Aaron said there were lots of red flags and Mack and Robert kept telling him there was something wrong with John, but he \"just didn't wanna hear it\".<\/p>\n<p>Ruby pointed out that guys like John are clever, they are good at making the victim think it's their fault. She tried her best to reassure Aaron.
