for the drop
When I see the three of them, at the end of the show, saying their synchronised goodbyes, there is part of my brain pulling on an invisible trapdoor lever which will consign them forever to oblivion.

Your comment is spot on! Now they have more and more they go back to that are unfinished...boring waste of timel Then most of them hadn't seen the property before they bought.....as if!

red squirrel syndrome
Don't know how to phrase this without it seeming racist, but here goes. The premise of the show when it first began was to feature delapidated properties bring brought back into habitable condition to be lived in mainly by younger people as their first home. The two presenters were there to follow their progress from auction to completion , advising them, cautioning them or encouraging them with their long experiences in renovation. This made for good viewing and engrossing sympathetic interest in the success or failure of the projects. The first timers are very rare now, the buyers now are older and less idealistic, every other one being Asian. east european or immigrant, with access to inexhaustible finance, many with 100 or more properties in their portfolios and a network of backup labour. Their projects now seem to be different, to increase the number of rooms and occupancy in a property, with inevitable rabbit warren HMO's being the preferred solution. The presenters now seem to be more visual, jokey with a mission to entertain us, maybe to distract us from what is evolving in the property market. I'm all for a bit of enterprise and drive ,but could this sometimes be shown by the homegrown renovators?

Greed
The landlord did little for the HMO update and wants £100 PW for the small (box rooms when the experts gave £70 - £75 . Greedy Ali

the horror, the horror
Must admit I had to flee the scene for today's episode, Dion had 2-slots on the show with the 3rd going to a retread of a strangely off-form Lucy. Stayed for Lucy but there's only so much in your face, nudge nudge punning you can take in one go. The show's producer's must really get to grips with this presenter problem.

Owner occupied
Wouldn't it be better if when the show's researchers went down the auction they picked out those looking for a home? Instead of Mohammad or Joe who has 130 etc properties in their portfolio and done up all to look similarly boring then we could watch a couple renovate their new home in an interesting and individual style. Now there is a concept...

Wtf
The auctioneer hesitated with the hammer on the final third bid...asking for half, £200 and then even £50 more. Is he for real? Glad there was no takers at that point. Is it greed trying to squeeze out every penny?

Nice to see her today. She is a big miss but she is great on her new show about inventions. She talks about her daughter in a wheelchair. No one knows what some of us cope with, and willingly, in life.

Graham the South African guy who renovated the house in Guildford featured in todays show has been on before although they didn't mention it. The episode was repeated not long ago. He bought and renovated a flat in Bayswater on behalf of a client, and met Lucy. Certain it was him.

Used to love this, easy to watch programme but now hate it with the introduction of Dion Dublin and Marten Maxwell. Does DD actually know anything about houses - sales and refurbs? He is boring beyond belief and totally superfluous when seasined presenter, Martin Roberts(?) is still there. As for Marten Maxwell - I can't listen to her annoying voice/accent for more than a few seconds without turning off!!!! It's always a mistake to change things when they were working fine before! Won't watch now.

I have watched homes under the hammer from the start but employing DD is the worst thing they have done, On today's episode he was talking about his knees again there was a disabled lift in the property which he felt he should use to save his knees. I am disabled and find the way he is very offensive. Very angry today.

Fed up with his hesitant way of speaking as if he almost forgets what he is about to say. I think the presenters need to be more upbeat. It is same old and getting boring and the background music.....ridiculous and so unecessary imo.

l agree with mike m, Martine Maxwell, is worse than Dion the way she stands there waving her arms like a windmill, and her awful accent, and is she paid to wear those weird coats, Now that's shes expecting, lets hope she takes an early leave, and stays at home with the kid until its a teenager, Bring Lucy back,at least she is a likeable person

Marine Maxwell
Well Marine Maxwell,is pregnant, that's good news, it means she will not be appearing on future shows for some time, that is unless she brings the new born , to the show with her, the show will be much better without her, and lets hope Dion gets the boot, and why do they repeat parts of the show we have already seen, its typical of the BBC, making 30 minutes viewing last an hour

here in NZ we watch it, I like the presenters, people really nitpick about them like this? Sheesh. WHat we find though is it's (mostly) horrific. Such tiny rooms, while the voiceover says such a big room...lol. Washers in kitchens, shudder...where do you put your actual washing baskets? Your cleaning products? Loos in bathrooms, and so close to sinks etc!! OMG! Gross. Loos upstairs....so all day long you must climb the stairs to er...P? No wonder the hospital program is full of people who have fallen. And doors opening on to the street, no garages.....No gardens...or a garden quoted in feet measurements....why, does it sound better than say 1/40th acre or 200sqm?

How go they do it
i recently asked four jobsworth for a quote, on moving a studded wall in the ensuite, back one metre, and installing a larger shower, and tiling of the new wall, the quotes ranged from £7.500 to £8.900, Yet on homes under the hammer, buyers can buy a derelict house, fit it with new kitchen, double Glazing, a new ensuite, replaster, re carpet, rewire, fit central heating, and dedcorate throughout, and all under £15.000 , Please supply the names of these contractors, lm fed up of dealing with cowboys

Not again
They only feature three properties and almost always they return to one unfinished nowadays. It is very disappointing not to see the period property in its final glory. Instead you get the incredibly boring same old kitchen/bathroom non-descript ones . Time for a shake up to keep us interested I think.

Can't believe BBC let Lucy go she made that programme should have been last in first out (Dion) then the BBC should have given her Dion's pay HUTH is not the same & with Martyn being so condescending to the buyers & with Dion only a footballer hopefully it won't last much longer
