Best of a bad lot
This year's artists were poor . Oliver was the best of a bad lot.

Poor contestants
The standard of painting this season was dreadful. 0 level at best. To much emphasis on back story and not on natural ability. Really dissapointing!

What the heck
My 2 year old grandson has been known to throw paint on the wall too but we don't analyse it or call it art! Btw why does Pascal wear his mother's tops?

Thankyou for your thoughts. Keep on with watercolour - by far the most pure form of colour ! This is your time to get on your high horse in your group ! :0) The poor man who was persuaded to change must have had huge problems with the darkening of acrylics as they dried, and it showed in his first portrait. The one in watercolour he did later reminded me very much of Modogliani's work. Good luck with your painting.

Pascal anson.
How can he be a tutor when his pictures consist of capital letters and stairs covered in sticky tape. (I'm not joking )

I so agree with you re watercolours. I prefer this medium myself but at the group I attend I am constantly being advised to paint my subject in acrylics. Watercolours can be vivid and dramatic,it depends on your use.

Not the best way to teach
How sad that one of the 'tutors' persuaded an entrant to change from watercolour to acrylic because watercolour is wishy washy. Turner would turn in his grave. Some of our most wonderful paintings are done in watercolour. It would drive me crackers being talked to constantly by the tutors, and to have to stop painting to answer. I am convinced that all this 'advice' would be better kept until after the session.

Worth A Look
If it wasn't for the so called experts. As one contestant said art is subjective.

Painting, not sob stories
I want some one to win on their painting ability NOT because of the best sob story about their upbringing.

Artists Under Fire
Turn the sound off, and enjoy the artists. The mentors are appalling, one of the pros should be locked up, but the works themselves are inspiring.

Tried to tell them it was a floating painting on a canvas but they either didn't get it or want to. She was better by far to several others including the winner imo.
