The only reason he is fronting this is because he ticks a couple of boxes that now seem mandatory at the Beeb. The fact that he is as thick as two short planks does mot matter. Boxes must be ticked at all costs!

As others have said, this is not a "new" series. The show is repackaged from clips from old series, mixed in with footage from tv archives (e.g. WW2) and narrated by Jay.
