The Canadian Open. Coverage from day three of the ATP 1000 event in Toronto and the WTA 1000 event in Montreal, both of which are hard-court tournaments. The second round sees the top eight seeded players get their campaigns unversed way in both the men's and women's events. The corresponding stage of the men's competition last year involved number eight seed Stefanos Tsitsipas seeing his challenge come to an early end as he lost in straight sets to Kei Nishikori. Meanwhile, the home crowd experienced disappointment in the women's tournament as Leylah Fernandez was eliminated by Ashlyn Krueger
