England continue their defence of the title after they came through a nail-biting quarter-final with Sweden, fighting back from 2-0 down to take the match to penalties and winning the shootout 3-2 despite failing to score four of their spot kicks. There was also drama in Italy's last-eight contest, which saw them claim a 2-1 win against Norway, with star striker Cristiana Girelli completing her brace in second-half stoppage time
