Aaron in a coma, Robert going back to prison and Mackenzie still trapped - what happens next in the John Sugden saga
Will anyone believe Robert?Emmerdale tonight saw Chas rage at Robert Sugden, as she incorrectly believed he was responsible for Aaron and John’s fall.
If fans were hoping John Sugden would finally be brought to justice, they will have to manage their frustration for a bit longer as it was Robert who was arrested instead.
As Robert begs to be believed, here’s what happens next.

Aaron and John taken to hospital in Emmerdale
Following on from Monday’s cliffhanger where John and Aaron plunged over a gorge, Robert called an ambulance and rushed to Aaron’s side. Robert begged Aaron to “please be OK” while John watched on from the ground nearby.
When the ambulance arrived, the paramedic declared that Aaron didn’t have a pulse, but fortunately they were able to shock him back to life.
At the hospital, it became clear that Aaron’s injuries were a lot worse than John’s as Aaron was rushed into surgery.
A doctor later told Chas that Aaron has been stabilised but the main concern is his head injury. The doctor shared that Aaron has a bleed on the brain. She also told Chas: “He’s had surgery to drain the blood, but he’s now sedated and not able to breathe for himself at the moment, so we’re putting him on a ventilator and inducing a coma.”

Robert arrested for attempted murder
Robert attempted to tell Chas, Charity and Liam what happened at the gorge. But Chas wasn’t having any of it and accused him of being the reason John and Aaron are in hospital.
Robert also tried to reason with Charity, telling her he thinks John has done something to Mack. Charity shrugged him off, telling him he was paranoid like Tracy.
Chas screamed at Robert that he probably pushed John and Aaron “just like what happened with Katie all them years ago”.
Robert’s sister Victoria also had doubts about her brother. Paddy tried to defend Robert, pointing out that Robert clearly cares for Aaron, so why would he hurt him?
Paddy also shared details about John’s call to the helpline, and said he was acting weird. Paddy must have missed the client confidentiality lesson, but we’ll let him off as he seems to be our only hope of bringing John down.
The police soon arrived at the hospital and arrested Robert for attempted murder. Robert screamed that John is insane and that Mack is in danger. However, Chas, Liam and Victoria simply watched as he was taken away.
Meanwhile, Mack was shown in the bunker screaming for help…

What happens next in Emmerdale?
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like we’re quite at the end of this saga just yet.
Upcoming scenes will see Robert questioned by the police, as they believe he pushed John and Aaron into the gorge.
Before dragging Aaron down with him, John made a phone call to 999 where he faked being in danger. He claimed his husband’s ex had turned up and was threatening to kill them.
With the police having this recording to hand, and John and Aaron lying in hospital beds, things don’t look promising for Robert.
Things also look bleak for Mack, as spoilers reveal he contemplates injecting himself with the syringe John left for him.
Aaron is aware of Mack’s location, but annoyingly he didn’t share this information with Robert when they were standing on the cliff edge.
So with Aaron in a coma and Mack experiencing hallucinations of Charity, will it be too late before someone finds Mack?
