The new series kicks off tonight and comedian Joe throws himself right into his Signature Dish challenge.
Joe, 64, decides to try and impress Grace and Giorgio with his self-invented Frankenstein Pie.
But while preparing it, he gets totally carried away with the super sharp knives and scissors in the famous MasterChef kitchen.
Grace and her new co-judge Giorgio cannot believe their eyes as Joe’s fingers pour with blood over his cooking station.
What a way to kick off the new series of Celebrity MasterChef…!
Joe Pasquale suffers multiple injuries in Celebrity MasterChef 2026
Joe is one of five famous faces taking part in Heat 1 of Celebrity MasterChef 2026.
He is in the kitchen this week with The Wanted’s Jay McGuiness and Love Island’s Shakira Khan. Completing the line-up for the first week of the competition is Olympian Emily Campbell and TV and radio presenter Jason Mohammad.
The competition kicks off with all five cooking their Signature Dishes. Joe decides to whip up his Frankenstein Pie – because he loves horror movies.
He is serving his beef pie with red wine gravy, carrots, fennel and a cheese and horseradish mash. In total, the dish has a whopping 32 ingredients in it.
Joe declares: “Out of chaos comes order.” And chaos it is. By the time Grace and Giorgio head over to his workstation, Joe has already sliced his fingers twice.
Joe says to Grace and Giorgio: “Hi, I’m living on the edge.” Grace remarks: “You’ve got two injuries already.”
He quips: “Don’t worry, I’ll be in plaster by the end of the week.”
Giorgio suggests Joe’s chopping board is the cause, as he has too many ingredients on it. Joe tells him: “It’s called Frankenstein Pie, you can’t do it without blood.”
Moments later, Joe is shown holding his right hand in the air. His thumb pours with blood as he asks: “Can I have another plaster please? This is a Sweeney Todd Pie!”
Later, Joe and his fellow competitors will take part in a condiments taste challenge. They will then follow Giorgio in a cook-along, copying the Italian chef as he makes one of his famous dishes.
But will Joe make it to the end of the episode in one piece?!
When is Celebrity MasterChef on next?
Heat 1 of Celebrity MasterChef 2026 continues tomorrow night (Wednesday August 19, 2026). The second episode of the series starts at 9pm on BBC One. It will also be available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
The gang will be given just one hour to create a dish using a mystery ingredient. By the end of the episode, one budding chef will be sent home by Grace and Giorgio.
We wonder how Joe will fair – competition wise and injury wise.
