Celebrity MasterChef 2026's Sue Cleaver drops her food on the floor after suffering painful injury
What an entranceSue Cleaver makes quite a dramatic entrance in tonight’s Celebrity MasterChef as makes her debut in the kitchen.
The Coronation Street actress, 62, is among the final batch of famous faces trying their luck in the BBC show.
But as Heat 3 gets underway, Sue has a very nasty accident.
She admits: “I’ve nearly cut my finger off and it’s only Day 1.”
The Loose Women panelist then struggles to use her hand properly as the competition gets underway, before dropping her food on the floor.
Who’s in tonight’s Celebrity MasterChef 2026?
There are five celebrities taking part in Heat 3 of Celebrity MasterChef. Sue is joined by Saturdays singer Una Healy, Paralympian Lauren Steadman, DJ and presenter Melvin Odoom and YouTuber Max Fosh.
They are the last new batch of celebrities to enter the kitchen this series. By the end of the week, the three that remain will join the six other semi finalists of 2026.
Tonight, the five celebs are asked to whip up their Signature Dish for their first challenge. But within minutes, Sue slices her finger open with a very special – and sharp – knife.
“Oh, plaster. Already. That didn’t take long, did it?” Sue admits, while making her lamb kofta dish. She then tells judges Grace Dent and Giorgio Locatelli: “I’m panicking a bit. I’ve cut myself already.
“It was on my very special knife that my son bought me especially for this.”
Raising his eyebrows, Giorgio explains to Sue: “That’s a Japanese knife. It’s a very sharp one!”
Unfortunately, the cut in Sue’s finger went deeper than she first thought. TV medics on standby ended up strapping it up and placing it in a rubber cover.
The only trouble is, this then makes Sue struggle throughout the rest of the day.
During a cook-a-long with Giorgio, she drops her entire bowl of tomato salsa onto the floor. Disaster!
But can she claw it back?
When is Celebrity MasterChef on?
Celebrity MasterChef is on at 9pm on BBC One tonight (Tuesday September 1, 2026).
Given that it is their first round, no one goes home in tonight. Sue, Una, Lauren, Melvin and Max will all progress into the second round of challenges, but only one of them with receive the coveted MasterChef pin.
The series will continue at 9pm tomorrow night (Wednesday September 2, 2026) on BBC One.
Celebrity guest Angry Ginge will be asking the five contestants to rustle up something for him. Max is particularly put off by the fellow YouTuber’s presence!
