Claudia Winkleman furiously defended by fans as they call out exact issue with new chat show
The second episode of The Claudia Winkleman Show aired last night
Claudia Winkleman was back on our screens last night (March 20) with the second episode of her new chat show, The Claudia Winkleman Show.
After mixed reviews last week, and Claudia herself calling it “awful”, viewers have now worked out exactly what’s wrong with the show…

Claudia Winkleman brands her own chat show ‘awful’
Earlier this week, Claudia appeared on the Heart Breakfast show. Chatting to hosts Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden, Claudia was reluctant to discuss her new series.
“The first one was so awful,” she said. “I suggest people don’t watch it. There’s only a few more, let’s pretend it never happened.”

Last night’s reviews are in…
This weekend’s show featured One Direction singer Niall Horan, podcaster Joanne McNally, comic Guz Khan and actress Rachel Zegler.
“Personally, not what I want my TV licence to be used for,” complained one viewer after watching episode two. “This new Claudia Winkleman chat show is weird. The set looks like a Chapel of Rest and the guests are all dressed up like they’ve come to a posh funeral,” said a second.
However, one major complaint stuck out on the hashtag – the “calibre” of the guests just isn’t enough to make the show a success. As well as that, some are also calling for a musical guest to spice things up a bit.
“I think, if there is an issue with #theclaudiawinklemanshow it’s the guest booking. Her main guest is Niall tonight. Why isn’t she getting the super A-listers?” asked one.

Another agreed, defending the host and saying: “It will live and die on the strength of her guests, and for what is only a second show, this line-up is pretty lightweight.”
“Terrible guest list,” another agreed.
“It needs a musical guest to break it up,” another suggested. “Agreed!” came one response.

‘A vast improvement!’
Other viewers furiously defended the presenter. One commented: “I knew #TheClaudiaWinklemanShow would get better. The second episode was a vast improvement.”
“Almost felt like it’s not a new show at all anymore and immediately felt like a chat show we will just have for years to come I think!” another predicted.
Next week’s guests announced
The Claudia Winkleman Show returns on Friday night (March 27) at 10.40pm. Her guests will include Jimmy Carr and Friends legend Lisa Kudrow.
