But Carl Webster had other ideas, urging Debbie to plead guilty, insisting she’d probably get a suspended sentence and avoid prison. Shockingly, Debbie took to the stand and did exactly that, leaving her family reeling.

Later, Adam warned Debbie the case was leaning towards her being considered of sound mind at the time of the crash. Ronnie begged him to find medical evidence proving her dementia meant she didn’t fully understand her actions – but a prison sentence was still a real possibility.

Behind closed doors, Debbie Webster searched through a memory box once alone. Viewers then realised that she’d pleaded guilty to protect her son… because she’s actually Carl’s mum. Will Carl ever find out?
