Marco made his debut on the cobbles back in September, quickly becoming Summer’s newest love interest. But things haven’t been easy for the new couple.
Recently, Marco was arrested for being a getaway driver while wearing an electronic tag. Unfortunately for him and Summer, he was denied bail and sent to prison.
Marco’s prison storyline takes a nasty turn
While in prison, Marco became Gary’s cellmate, and Gary promised to look out for him. However, bully Ross had already made Marco his next target and has been determined to make his life hell.
Not only has Ross been tormenting Marco inside, but he also ripped up a letter Summer had written, leaving the youngster heartbroken.
On the outside, Summer has been determined to get her beau out of prison. She enlisted the help of Adam and Alya, vowing to stick by his side throughout everything.
As things stand, Marco hasn’t opened up to anyone about Ross’ bullying. And now Coronation Street fans are convinced the storyline will take a heartbreaking turn.
Coronation Street fans predict devastating suicide twist
Taking to Reddit, Coronation Street fans discussed the possibility that Marco might take his own life.
One fan theorised: “Why do I have a suspicion where they are going with Ross’ bullying of Marco is Marco committing suicide. Gary is doing his best for him but I don’t think it will be enough.”
Another agreed: “I have thought since Marco went into prison this is going to be that storyline. I really hope not though, he is a very likeable character.”
“I hope Marco doesn’t take his own life. It would be pretty miserable for Summer to lose her new boyfriend within a year of losing her third dad. I do think there will be an attempt. It would be perfectly realistic as lots of young people struggle with their mental health in prison,” a third commented.
A fourth agreed that Marco’s time could be limited, but believed Ross would be the cause of his death.
They penned: “I think he is going to be murdered in prison because Ross has set him up for something. But I think his death would definitely lead to a Ross and Gary clash that we have all been waiting for.”
