As oblivious Maggie pays Megan to train Will in Weatherfield, Beth Nixon exposes truth behind Megan's grooming of Will
Megan's desperate to be loved
Megan and Will continued their secret relationship tonight (Friday, November 14) in Coronation Street as the grooming storyline reached new heights.
The couple had been prepared to end things when a move made by Maggie actually ended up salvaging their relationship.
Actress Beth Nixon has now explained the truth behind Megan’s desperate grooming of teen Will Driscoll.

Megan and Will’s relationship was saved in Coronation Street
Will came back from his athletics trip looking like he’d rather be anywhere else tonight, and right behind him was Megan, despite having just called time on their ‘thing’ after nearly being caught mid-snog by George. Ben, ever the gent, handed her some cash for the lift and invited her in for dinner. Big mistake.
Things got awkward fast when Ollie brought up Will’s mystery girlfriend. If only they knew that the answer to the mystery was sitting right in front of them.
Later, Will told Ben he didn’t want a new coach and wanted to move back to Hull. Ben was coming round to the idea but Maggie Driscoll wasn’t having it. She teamed up with Eva and offered Megan money to train Will in Weatherfield twice a week instead. Talk about compromise.
Megan and Will met up again and decided to keep their relationship going now that they could see each other more easily.
Megan laid it on thick, telling Will he was ‘a real man’ and she could now see that he really loved her. She wasn’t prepared to give that up.

Coronation Street newcomer Beth Nixon explains Megan’s grooming behaviour truth
Coronation Street newcomer Beth Nixon has explained a bit of Megan’s backstory and has admitted the reason behind Megan’s grooming of Will.
The actress told The Sun: “She’s very calculated. Everything she does is for a reason, but she’s very good at hiding that.
“She’s very insecure, but again, she hides it. So she’s very confident and charismatic on the outside; she charms people, she makes people feel sorry for her, she makes people like her. She’s worming her way into this family; she’s almost like a parasite.”
Admitting that Megan is ‘multi-dimensional’ and ‘not just an evil person,’ Beth added: “So, there are all these things I’ve decided in my preparation. She’s very insecure. She’s desperate to be loved; she’s desperate to be adored. And her reasons for that will eventually be uncovered, and we’ll dig deeper and find out more about her. But she’s a flawed person. She’s really complex as an actor you’ve got to delve deep and find a reason for why a person, a ‘villain’ as such is a loose term, behaves in that way.”
