Death in Paradise continues this week with episode 7, the penultimate of series 15, and there’s another brilliant selection of guest stars joining the cast.
There’s something for everyone, including a children’s entertainer from the 80s, an Emmerdale star, and a favourite from The Durrells.
This Friday 13 will certainly be unlucky for the local newspaper’s notorious agony aunt Hortense LeRoux. Mervin and the team are called to investigate when she is poisoned to death on the morning after her retirement party… But who wanted her dead?
Meanwhile, Mervin gets a rude (and super sassy) awakening from an unexpected guest…

Gary Wilmot portrays Anton Busette
London-born Gary Wilmot, 71, guest stars as newspaper editor Anton Busette in this week’s Death in Paradise. And the accent might have come easier than for most as his dad was Jamaican. Gary first appeared as Anton on episode 2 of series 15 where he and the Commissioner certainly seemed to have a history…
Anybody over 40 or 50 will remember Gary fondly from the 80s and 90s. At that time, he was a popular face on TV and entertainment and was awarded an MBE in 2018.
Gary – real name Harold Owen ‘Gary” Wilmot – rose to fame as a contestant on talent show New Faces in 1978. After his early career in cabaret and pub performances, he subsequently became TV-famous and went on to appear on kids show The Saturday Gang, and performed impressions on Copy Cats. He eventually got his own series called Showstoppers, in which he performed well-known hits from musical theatre alongside special guests.

As a television presenter, he hosted You and Me, and So You Want To Be Top. Singer, actor and all-round entertainer Gary is also known for his successful career in West End musical theatre theatre. His West End credits include Me and My Girl, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Prince of Egypt, and Wicked.
More recently, Gary has voiced Trevor Evans in the animated Fireman Sam, and played Rufus Coulter in a recent Midsomer Murders episode. Seeing him on the small screen is actually pretty rare these days.
Sian Reeves plays Kim Woods
West Bromwich-born Sian Reeves, 59, portrays housekeeper Kim Woods in Death in Paradise episode 7. Like co-star Gary Wilmot, Sian is also a singer and actress and known for working across TV, theatre, film, and musicals. In fact, her early career saw her cast as an original cast member of Les Misérables in 1985.
As well as her theatre career, Sian has appeared in several big TV shows. Her first major TV role was playing Zoe in the period drama In a Land of Plenty in 2001. A year later, she portrayed Sydney Henshall in the Sarah Parish drama Cutting It.
Soaps fans will also know her well for popping up in Walford, Emmerdale, and Weatherfield! In 2006, Sian portrayed Elaine Jarvis in EastEnders, before playing Sally Spode in Emmerdale between 2009 and 2010. In 2019, Sian starred as Charlie Wood in Coronation Street. Just Hollyoaks to go, Sian!
Other notable TV roles include Pauline in Northern Lights, and its sequel City Lights, Hannah Temple in Hope Springs, Gloria Stevens in Lunch Monkeys, and Bianca in Mount Pleasant. More recently, Sian has played Marple in Cockney and Scouse, and Claudia Rose in The Following Events Are Based on a Pack of Lies.
Back in March 2006, Sian won the BBC singing competition Just the Two of Us with Russell Watson. Tragically, a year later, Sian suffered a brutal fall at work. While rehearsing the play Vernon God Little at London’s Young Vic theatre, she fell through an open stage trapdoor, suffering a punctured lung and crushed ribcage. She was subsequently out of work for 10 months.
Death in Paradise cast episode 7: Anna Savva stars as Hortense LeRoux
London-born actress Anna Savva portrays Hortense LeRoux in the penultimate episode of Death in Paradise series 15. Hortense is the local newspaper’s notorious Agony Aunt who is poisoned the morning after her retirement party while reading her final advice column. Turns out her sharp tongue and brutal advice has left a trail of wounded hearts and bruised egos across the island…
Anna, 69, is probably most famous for portraying series regular Lugaretzia in all four series of The Durrells. Fans will know that the period drama was filmed on location on the Greek island of Corfu. Although Anna was born in the UK, she is of Greek Cypriot descent.
More recently, Anna portrayed Maria in the 2025 thriller The Ex-Wife. She’s also popped up in Sharpe, Genius, Casualty, and Prime Suspect. Like her co-stars, Anna is also known for her work across film and stage.
Suzette Llewellyn portrays Calypso Jones
London-born Suzette Llewellyn, 63, portrays Calypso Jones in the cast of Death in Paradise episode 7 of series 15. The actress is best known for portraying Sheree Trueman in the BBC soap EastEnders, a role she portrayed between 2019 and 2021. Sheree was the daughter of Wanda Baptiste, ex-wife of Patrick Trueman and mother of Isaac Baptiste.
She’s been on our screens for 40 years, having made her very first TV appearance in the 1984 TV movie Stars of the Roller State Disco. Suzette went on to play Sister Cheryl Patching in Surgical Spirit, and Vonnie Johnson in Brookside.
Other notable roles include Wendy Sparks in Rocket’s Island, Margaret in Hollyoaks, Nina Morrison in Coronation Street, and Estelle Vere in Doctors. More recently, she portrayed Odette De La Roux in the moving BBC drama Mr Loverman.
