EastEnders confirms Priya pregnancy twist as flashforward mystery deepens
But who is the daddy - Max or Ravi?EastEnders brought us one step closer to the mystery of the flashforward today (Wednesday August 19) when they confirmed the identity of the pregnant woman on New Year’s Day as Priya Nandra-Hart, played by Sophie Khan-Levy.
It’s led to the question of who the dad will be. However some fans are convinced it’s totally obvious who the father is. Or is it? Let’s take a look.
Priya is pregnant in EastEnders
Tonight’s episode began with Max and Priya waking up having fallen asleep together the night before. Max scrambled to get dressed and find Cindy with an excuse he was out all night drinking with a client – if she believes that, she’ll believe anything!
It was the night of Cindy’s hen do and she was flustered that nothing was organised. So she roped frenemy Priya into helping Gina set up.
As Cindy lapped up the attention, Priya was whisked away by Ravi, who sat her in the boxing ring at the Boxing Den and proposed to her. Bursting into tears, Priya claimed to be a bit ovewhelmed and promised to think about it.
But in reality she was feeling guilty as hell about her affair with Max. She went to visit her lover to end it right then and there.
Priya later returned to the party in The Vic, but told Cindy she wasn’t feeling well. She then threw up all over Cindy’s perfect white outfit.
Realising the sickness might not just be a bug, Priya managed to duck out, buy a pregnancy test and then return to The Vic (instead of the comfort and privacy of her own home) to take it.
And as we saw her holding the pregnancy test in the loos, we knew it was positive. Priya is pregnant in EastEnders.
So who is the dad of Priya’s baby?
Since early June Priya has been sleeping with Max Branning. Despite being caught by Jean recently, they have failed to call it off and continued to sneak around behind Cindy’s back.
Priya meanwhile is also in the midst of rebuilding things with Ravi. He left Walford after having a breakdown and has returned to win his family – including Priya – back. As yet, they have not slept together since his return in July.
So does that mean Max has to be the father of the baby?
Well, some fans are convinced that is the case. But actually Priya slept with both Ravi and Max on the same day before Ravi left. It was in late May, on the day of Vicki and Ross’ wedding.
It means, if Priya is roughly three months pregnant, the father could be either of them. So we’re definitely in for a who’s the daddy storyline now.
However, the fact Priya seems to be in Max’s bed in the New Year flashforward, could suggest the baby is definitely Max’s. Or is this just another red herring? Is it not Priya in the bed at all and someone else is pregnant?
Tragedy ahead for Priya and Ravi after EastEnders’ pregnancy news?
With the revelation that Ravi actor Aaron Thirara is leaving the soap after four years, viewers are now predicting tragedy ahead for the couple.
The theory is ciruclating that Ravi will be the baby daddy, but he will then die in dramatic scenes during the flashforward.
“Why do I get the feeling that Priya will realise she’s carrying Ravi’s baby but he gets killed off at the end of the year in the conclusion of the Flashforward?” suggested one on X.
“I think the baby will be Ravi’s,” agreed someone else.
“I get the feeling it will be Ravi’s and he dies at the end of the year after a final showdown with Max on NYD. That would literally be the cruellest twist in existence,” added another.
So who is the dad? And does it mean heartbreak for pregnant Priya in EastEnders?
