John proves he will stop at nothing to get rid of Robert, and things are going to get darker

John wants Robert out of his life

As John Sugden proved he would stop at nothing to get rid of Robert in Emmerdale, it looks like things are about to get even darker.

Tonight (June 23) Robert Sugden opened up about his prison experiences to Victoria, who was glad he was trying to turn his life around. But John still is worried that Robert will split

Caleb decided to give Robert a chance and hire him to work at the Depot. But that was short-lived as John took it upon himself to make sure Robert got fired.

John blackmailed Caleb

Despite being upset over hitting Victoria and struggling with being home, Robert was actually looking forward to his first day of work. And even Vic was proud of him for turning his life around.

It didn’t get off to the best start as Rob was late and Caleb told him off. But he agreed to give him a chance to prove what he is capable of. Rob was instructed to go through a list of potential clients and get them introduced to the firm.

And Caleb was impressed to hear that Robert had already discovered one of his old contacts needed a new place for distribution and was going to link them with the Depot.

But later, John headed to see Caleb and tried to talk him out of it. Caleb didn’t care about anything John was saying, reminding him that Robert deserves a chance.

However, John wasn’t having it and told Caleb to remember he got rid of Anthony’s body for him. When Caleb asks if he is blackmailing him, John says he’s not – but just wants him to do this one thing (sounds a lot like blackmail to us, John!)

In the end, Caleb told Robert that a huge client pulled out and so they couldn’t afford to take him on, leaving Robert hurt but understanding. Until Jai mentions there was no client.

John and Robert went head-to-head in the village and when John spotted Vic’s black eye, he urged her to call the police. She refused and told him if he did then she would never speak to him again.

But John isn’t about to stop there.

Robert ends up in the clutches of John in Emmerdale

Spoilers for this week shows that things are about to get a whole lot darker for Robert, as he ends up in the hands of evil John.

When Robert is rejected once again by Aaron, he heads to drown his sorrows. And he decides the best way to do that is by getting drunk and hooking up with men. But as soon as Robert realises Aaron isn’t jealous, he feels deflated.

But John watches on as Robert’s date drugs his drink. So, he intervenes. John gets Robert in the back of his van while unconscious and heads off to a remote area.

When they end up alone, John opens the back door and looms over Robert’s body with a syringe. Clearly debating killing his brother, Robert seems to be in even more danger than he was before.

But will John save Robert? Or is Robert about to be in a lot of trouble? Some fans think John will use the same injection as he gave Nate – and that might spark the beginning of the end.

‘I felt cheap and degraded!’ MAFS Australia’s Rebecca furiously blasts husband Steve after his awkward Intimacy Week rejection

MAFS Australia has aired some extremely awkward scenes tonight, but bride Rebecca has hit out at her on-screen husband, Steve, over his behaviour.

Tuesday night (March 24) MAFS Australia marked the start of the 2026 Intimacy Week. And it's safe to say, it didn't get off to a great start for a lot of couples.

However, after the awkward and uncomfortable scenes aired in Australia, Rebecca spoke out about how she really felt about Steve's rejection.

Rebecca and Steve awkward Intimacy Week scenes

As Intimacy Week begins, the first task is for the women to live out their biggest fantasies. They all headed to a sex shop to pick out some fancy dress outfits, and headed back to their men.

But while Rebecca was out with Gia, they decided she should embrace it, and go get what she wants. And for her, what she wanted was for Steve to show her some more interest.

However, when she returned to the apartment, and explained the whole task to Steve – who has a shock relation to David Beckham, she showed him her outfit. And he was definitely not impressed.

She asked him if he would like her to put it on, pointing out that she made sure to get the one that was "covered up" the most. But in awkward scenes, Steve told her he didn't actually want that.

He explained that his idea of "intimacy" isn't something bought from a sex shop. And that they have different opinions on what it means.

The awkwardness left Rebecca reeling. And she has since spoken out about what was going through her head.

MAFS Australia Rebecca hits out

Speaking to 9Entertainment, Rebecca admitted just how "disappointed" she felt when Steve rejected her. But she also explained that there was a lot going on between the pair that wasn't seen. Particularly, how Steve wasn't showing up for her.

She explained: "I think Steve and I, we're just in different places when it comes to intimacy. But I think he's confused with what I'm asking."

Rebecca clarified that for her, it wasn't just about the physical or emotional connection. Instead, she wanted him to "put in the effort" to know her better.

The 51-year-old leasing manager confessed: "I don't think he was really showing up for me in the experiment. It was disappointing because I waited for so long to go into it.

"I wanted to have fun with it and for it to be light, nothing to serious. It was meant to be playful and fun."

As for how she felt in the moment Steve rejected her, Rebecca admitted it was a horrible moment that made her doubt herself.

"I felt really cheap and disregarded in that moment," she said. "It left that self-doubt of 'is he really into me?'

"For me, intimacy is very important in the right relationship. And he kind of just shut the whole thing down. He just wasn't interested."

With intimacy week set to continue over the next few days, UK viewers will have to wait and see if Rebecca and Steve make it through the process on MAFS Australia.
