Emmerdale explains Serena's real identity but fans are left with more questions after that final scene
Serena's true identity was exposed by Kev
Emmerdale gave viewers more information about Serena Sugden’s background and former history in tonight’s scenes (Wednesday, July 15).
Ever since seeing Serena in the village, Kev was adamant that he recognised her from his time inside of prison.
And tonight, he finally cracked it as the truth about Serena’s past came out.

Serena’s identity revealed in Emmerdale
Tonight, Kev kept pressing Serena about her past and finally worked out that she was a police officer. He recognised her from his time behind bars.
Kev thought he’d do the right thing and tell Robert and Aaron that Serena was a ‘plod.’ Aaron wasn’t thrilled to hear this from Kev, but Robert thanked him for informing them.
When Serena then returned home, Robert wanted answers as she was forced to reveal more information about her past.
Serena explained that she had been in the police force but she’d given that career up. She also admitted to knowing more of John than she initially made out.
John was actually close with her family and helped them out with their money issues. She couldn’t believe that someone who seemed so kind to their family could do something so bad.
She then told Robert that she wanted to do the right thing with the money and give it to Tracy and Frankie for what John did to Nate.

Fans left with further questions after episode’s final scene
Continuing to ask more questions about John’s death, Serena then quizzed Robert on her belief that John didn’t kill himself.
She also wondered why the Sugdens had sold up so quickly to a family they hated – the Tates, with Vic then rushing off to Portugal. She reckoned something didn’t add up there.
Serena then tried to get the truth out of Robert by suggesting that she ‘would’ve bought Vic a drink’ for killing John. She promised that she wouldn’t tell anybody what really happened when John died. Robert ‘had her word.’
But, Aaron found out and feared that Serena would tell her other mates in the police force about what she knew, and they’d all get sent down.
The final scene of tonight’s episode has left fans with further questions about Serena. She was seen getting out of her car and walking towards the police station.
It appears that Serena’s still lying to Robert and that her ‘story’ earlier in the episode wasn’t entirely true. She appears to still be in the force, or to be close to someone who is.
One person wrote: “What a liar Serena is with her sob story [bleep],” while another person commented: “I don’t believe Serena has left the force.”
A third person added: “I still don’t fully trust Serena.”
So, is she out to get some sort of revenge? Can Robert trust her? Has she even left the force? So many questions.

Kit's vow to protect Sarah
Kit suggested to Sarah that they pin Theo's murder on Gary as Harry couldn't grow up without his mum. Sarah didn't want to do this though and would rather hand herself in than see Gary go down for something she did.
Heading to the station, Kit then rummaged through the files and was sent packing by his colleague. He was told that an arrest was soon going to be made.
Back at home, Kit told Sarah that they had nothing on her so she shouldn't worry. But, should she?
