Cain in meltdown as he gets full cancer diagnosis
Denial turns to angerEmmerdale spoilers for (Feb 2 - 6) reveal there is more devastation ahead for Cain as his cancer journey progresses.
He gets news that it is aggressive – and blows up at anyone and everyone in his path as he struggles to come to terms with it.
The revelation is the very opposite of icing on the cake in a week during which Cain is also arrested, alongside Moira…
Cain’s cancer update wrecks his head
Cain is feeling nervous as he awaits an appointment with his cancer consultant, Ms. Rhodes, to receive a full diagnosis.
She confirms that Cain has aggressive, yet localised, prostate cancer. Utterly overwhelmed by the diagnosis and the potential side effects of the recommended radical prostatectomy, Cain reverts to type and does a runner from the meeting.
He returns to the village in a daze as he struggles to process his diagnosis. As the news beds in – although Cain is trying his damnedest to stay in denial – his anger begins to mount.
Soon Cain is lashing out at anyone who comes across him. Sarah and Liam bear the brunt as Cain reaches breaking point, and yells at them both about his overwhelming burdens.
Again, he storms off to try and deal with his demons alone.
He finds himself later sitting at dad Zak’s graveside, struggling to cope with the devastation that’s now on his shoulders.
Cain’s cancer story
Cain discovered that he had cancer during the Corriedale episode. Doctors found it by chance as Cain went to hospital after being shot and injured during the gun confrontation between John and Robert.
During the heartbreaking scene, Cain learned it doesn’t necessarily mean a “death sentence”. However, this latest development is sure to get Cain fearing the worst, especially after he lost mum Faith to cancer.
Emmerdale has announced that a special episode covering Cain’s cancer storyline is upcoming and just reading about it brings a tear to the eyes.
