The Bear storyline in Emmerdale has been going on for quite some time. But just as fans had a bit of relief through tonight’s episode, the ending hinted that much more could come.

Following Ray’s murder, Bear told the police he acted alone – keeping Paddy and Dylan out of everything. But that’s not the truth.

And Bear has been struggling to fix his life, so tonight, Paddy helped him make a huge decision about his future. However, another shocking twist was just around the corner.

Bear ‘left’ Emmerdale tonight – will he be back?

In tonight’s episode of Emmerdale (March 2), Bear was still missing, after he ran out of the hospital following his attack on Jacob.

Paddy and the others – including the police – all spent the night looking for him. But DS Walsh reminded Paddy that once he was found, he would be going to jail for breaking the terms of his bail.

Not wanting to see his dad behind bars, Paddy decided he needed to find him first. And he successfully did, at Anya’s empty grave.

However, instead of taking him to the police station, Paddy decided to offer him the chance to get professional help, by checking into a mental health facility. And it didn’t take much persuasion, as Bear agreed to go and get help.

But as Paddy was dropping him off, he assured his dad that he will come visit him. However, Bear told him not to, as it is something he needed to do alone.

With Bear leaving the village, does this mean a permanent exit for Joshua Richards? Thankfully, it doesn’t seem like he will be leaving the show for good.

At this moment, there are no reports that suggest Joshua has left his role as Bear in Emmerdale. However, sometimes the soap tries to keep things under-wraps.

Paddy is now back in the frame

Bear’s exit wasn’t the only surprising thing for Emmerdale fans tonight. During her visit to the vets to speak to Paddy, DS Walsh noticed something very odd. And it puts Paddy back in the frame for Ray’s death.

There was rope found in the back of the vets office. And when DS Walsh went back she took a photograph.

Then she made a phone call, telling the other person that they need to bring Paddy back in for questioning.

But then fans were given flashbacks to Ray’s murder cover-up, and could see that the rope was used in the back of the van. So, since Paddy has some of it, it’s clear that he had some involvement in the cover.

While Emmerdale spoilers don’t tell us what happens next, it appears this storyline could go on for quite some time.
