I'm A Celebrity South Africa hit with second wave of Ofcom complaints as 1,187 viewers blast chaotic live final
More than 100 people complained earlier in the run after David called Adam 'useless'
I’m A Celebrity South Africa‘s disastrous live final on Friday night (April 24) has been reported to Ofcom almost 1,200 times, it’s been revealed.
Broadcasting regular Ofcom shared that 1,187 complaints were made about the chaotic live final. It was hosted in London by Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly.
The series was won by Adam Thomas. However, his victory was marred by outbursts from David Haye and Jimmy Bullard. Some of their all-stars campmates were left so shocked that they walked off air.

Ofcom inundated with I’m A Celebrity live final complaints
Earlier today (April 29), it was revealed that almost 1,200 people had complained that the I’m A Celebrity South Africa live final broke the broadcasting code of conduct. The complaints came after a series of chaotic arguments were shown live on air.
The majority of complaints related to alleged bullying behaviour from Jimmy Bullard and David Haye towards Adam Thomas during the show.

However, that wasn’t the first time viewers had complained about the 2026 series.
The episode that aired on April 17 received 171 complaints.
That installment of the ITV1 show saw David Haye brand Adam Thomas “useless”. His comments came after the actor ruled himself out of taking part in a trial due to ill health.

Hosts Ant and Dec later said they found the scenes “uncomfortable to watch”.

I’m A Celebrity viewers predicted complaints
However, Ofcom shouldn’t really be surprised that the complaints have poured in. One look at the Twitter hashtag during Friday night’s live show signalled that the regulator should’ve been braced for an influx of complaints.
One viewer predicted: “Ofcom complaints incoming for ITV.” Another said: “How long before Ofcom start getting complaints?” “Jesus wept this is bad for ITV, Ofcom is going to be involved,” a third predicted.
Another said we should spare a thought for those working at Ofcom, tweeting: “I know the Ofcom employees just watched that and did the biggest sigh.”
