It's back in! Coronation Street boss confirms details of Swarla's wedding as they reunite
Great news at last
Swarla are back together and their wedding is back on after the events of tonight’s Coronation Street episode (Wednesday, January 21).
Fans have had to seat through a painful month or so of Carla and Lisa being over, but they’re now back where they belong.
And, they’re not going to take things slow… They’re starting again from the point they left off at.

Swarla reunited in Coronation Street
Tonight, Carla was all business, gearing up for a big-money client meeting at the hotel, when Ryan handed her a blast-from-the-past love letter from Lisa. Very Year 9. Lisa had invited her for a heart-to-heart lunch at the bistro… but Carla, in classic Carla fashion, never actually replied.
Carla’s clients demanded phones off, while Lisa sat at the bistro refreshing her messages, drowning her sorrows and assuming she’d been well and truly ghosted. Fuelled by wine and wounded pride, Lisa staggered to the Chariot Square Hotel and launched into a very public meltdown. She declared Carla her soulmate, insulted the clients’ hairlines and promptly redecorated the floor with her lunch. How romantic!
Ryan swooped in to rescue a wobbling Lisa, while Carla’s meeting crashed and burned. But all’s well that ends well. Back home, Carla comforted a half-asleep Lisa, who couldn’t believe she’d come back. Carla admitted she was just being stubborn – and that Lisa’s ‘baldies’ rant reminded her exactly why she fell in love. Swarla reunited. Cheers to that.

Coronation Street boss confirms Carla and Lisa wedding will go ahead
Later this week, Coronation Street spoilers have confirmed that Carla and Lisa are official once more and celebrate the news in the Rovers. Of course!
With Lisa waking up with a huge hangover, she can’t remember anything that happened during her bistro love confession. But, the rest of Weatherfield sure can!
She’s super confused but pleased to find the ‘love of her life’ Carla making her breakfast at home. They’re back on. Woo!
And, the reunion doesn’t just stop there. The couple are soon hearing wedding bells once again, as Coronation Street boss Kate Brooks recently confirmed that a Swarla wedding will take place.
She shared: “They were engaged.
“So wedding bells will certainly be ringing in the not too distant future, and they’ll get their happy after.”
A lovely ending to a chaotic period for the couple!

What is the plot of Frauds on ITV1?
The plot of Frauds centres on skilled confidence tricksters Bert and Sam. Viewers meet them after they've been separated by an "arduous 10-year prison sentence".
A BBC synopsis tells us: "Sam has been content to live a life of quiet anonymity in the hills of Southern Spain. But her grifting partner, Bert, has spent the last decade in a maximum-security Spanish prison."
The government release Bert on compassionate leave as a result of her cancer diagnosis. But she's got no desire to go straight in her final weeks. In fact, she still has a burning desire to pull off one final job that will prove her worth. When they reunite, it's apparent from the outset that Sam and Bert have unresolved issues of the thieving kind.
The pair are "locked into a pattern of fierce friendship coupled with deep mistrust that goes back many years".
Feeling years worth of guilt, Sam reluctantly agrees to give dying Bert a bed in the idyllic smallholding she calls a home. However, she is immediately pulled back into their complex and addictive relationship - despite trying to keep Bert at a distance.
How can I watch Frauds? What's the start date?
Frauds will air on ITV and STV and be available for streaming on ITVX and STV Player.
ITV has now revealed the start date will be Sunday, October 05, 2025 at 9pm. The series will air on Sunday and Monday nights for three consecutive weeks throughout October. All episodes will be made available to stream on ITVX from Sunday, October 05.
Helen Ziegler, Senior Drama Commissioning Editor for ITV, said: "We are delighted to be working with Suranne, Anne Marie and the brilliant team at Monumental on their unique take on a heist show.
"At its heart this is a story of a complex, surprising friendship. It asks if Sam and Bert can pull together for one last job, or whether the past will derail them. Suranne and Jodie are two incredible actors and it'll be thrilling to see what they bring to the central characters."

How many episodes is Suranne Jones drama?
Frauds will be a six-part drama. Each episode will be one hour long, including ads. ITV has not yet revealed if it will be released as a boxset on ITVX or if viewers will have to wait week by week.
The series is a co-production with TeamAkers, the production company founded by Suranne Jones and her husband Laurence Akers.
Co-creator of Suranne Jones tells us: "Working on Frauds with Anne-Marie and Monumental for the last two years has been a wild ride. We took the idea of toxic female friendship and turned it on its head to give the heist genre an emotional heartbeat."
Frauds on ITV filming locations
Frauds began filming in Spain in early 2025. The series is set in the picturesque mountainous region of Southern Spain.
Suranne Jones' previous drama Maryland, which she co-created, was filmed in various locations in Ireland, including the Howth Peninsula and Bray Head.
We reckon clever Suranne might set her next drama on an idyllic beach, much like The Castaways! Perk of the job to choose a pretty location, surely?!

Former Corrie villain Lee Boardman - aka Jez Quigley - takes on the role of Jackie's husband, Craig - a gaslighting, narcissistic mid level magician.
